Good deal, £20 top-up required though and is available only on T-Mobile. O2 & Orange are quiet expensive.

8520 model is the cheapest Blackberry. 9300 looks similar but has a better camera and is 3g.

Bear in mind you need to pay for Blackberry services each month to get the most out of this phone. I've recently got one from Virgin on a contract, my first contract phone, as the BB 8520 came free with a £12 a month contract which includes call time, tests and BB services (£10 for Virgin Media customers).

I got an 8520 for my wife on Virgin Mobiles £10 a month tariff, would love a 9300 but I dont think they sell them yet on virgin mobile. Unless you could point me in the right direction.

The 8520 sold so fast on the Virgin £10 contract that they had to start giving people the 9300 to keep up with demand. Unfortunately they realised that giving people a £250 phone on a 24-month £10 contract probably didn't make very good business sense and stopped. They will not be getting any more 9300's in.

We tried to replace the wife's 8520 with the 9300 under their '28 day exchange' program but due to their ****-ups we never ended up getting one. Got a free month instead for the inconvenience :(

This is a good price for the 9300. But you only get 6 months internet so you will need to purchase the BB booster after 6-months to use BlackBerry Messenger, emails and the internet.

You still need to porchase the Blackberry Booster for £5/month. If you are entitled to a free booster then you can change ur free booster to the Blackberry Booster.

did they release blackberry 6 OS for this phone or is it too old?

COLD-£199.90 as £20 top-up is required
#20
Anyone received theirs yet? If so is it locked to T-Mobile or unlocked?
#21
T-Mobile are doing a deal where they give you a free BB sim that has 6 months free internet and 6 months BBM. After that it's £5 a month or £20 for 6 months.

I'm normally up with the mobile sceen but this has left me puzzled. My Daughter has the PAYG unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £10 T-Mobile. Can i get this and just put sim in the handset? I'm hereing people refer to BB services, what will she not receive or not be able to do using her existing sim?
Kind regards in advance

She won't be able to access BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) which is required for internet, BlackBerry Messenger and instant emails. You need the BB booster for these. You get it free for 6 months using the SIM with the phone or it's £20 for 6 months.

The 9300 (and 9700) will both be getting 6.

Or so they say. Personally I can't see why the update isn't available yet when OS 6 is up and running on newer phones.

Hot price, but I got this on the Virgin £10/month deal and am kind of wishing I hadn't. It's totally underwhelming compared to similar-priced Androids.

Very capable phone, only downer is the screen resolution of 320x240 which makes web browsing a bit tedious having to magnify to see whats what.

Was considering the san francisco from orange for my daughter for her birthday but went with the BB 8520 which has slower internet than this but shes over the moon with it. It does everything a teen wants and is well built with good battery life unlike the san fran.

This having 3g will be a bit quicker for internet browsing but i think THIS is the only difference between the 2, so if you see a cheap 8520 and your on a budget it may be wise to go for that instead?.

8520 £140 all in with £10 credit at phones4u, violet or black. If you set it up to prefer wifi you will only get the slower speeds away from home? Saving you £50.

These phones can be unlocked very easily for 99p on ebay so dont worry about network just use the credit or pass it on if your in a contract.

Good deal for this and the housing looks a bit nicer than the standard 8520 :)

Just seen this and bought it on sale at phones 4 u for £149 plus a £10 top up, i lost my 9700 so this a cheaper replacement, guy said if i had a valid pay as you go sim no need for the £10 top up.

Not as good as 9700 but wasnt prepared to pay £349 form play.com for it, happy with it as insurance give me a cash settlement. But better than the 8520 curve
