For those who want 3G but don't want to fork out for a 9700. The best price I've seen is at O2 PAYG, it's 249 everywhere else.

If I bought this and got it unlocked would I be able to use it on the 3 network?
#3

Funnily enough, I bought one of these from 02 Direct on Friday - £199 delivered, and it's a sim-free version that arrived.. It really doesn't seem to like T-Mobile though, as BlackBerry Messanger and Email refuse to work, but I'm swapping over to O2 in a couple of weeks anyway, so will sort it out then.. Just a heads up mind..

Do you have BIS (Blackberry Internet Services), without this the BB is kinda useless!

Hey there mate in on t-mobile and i was wandering did you order it from the 02 website? and put your tmobile sim and it worked fine? i have unlimited internet on my contract with tmobile and was told that i would need to pay £5 more and get unlimited blackberry services, i was wandering did you add that maybe thats why its not working oh and lastly does it say 02 on the bottom of the phone? Thanks please reply it wont let me pm you for some strange reason.

9700 is only £50 more BNIB on ebay...

Normally if 3g is in lower case then you don't have the right tariff - meaning you need blackberry tariff. Once "3G" is in uppercase near your reception bar you should then have no problems with BB messenger and other features of the BB service.

Hope that helps. :)
