Free handset, 600 mins, 500 texts, push email included (so texts not that significant), for what works out under 20 quid a month. There is another deal on here through Dial-a-phone which works out slightly less after YAW £45, Quidco £50 and the £40 redemption offer, but it doesn't include BIS (which Orange seem to charge anything between £4 and £7.50 a month for). Cancelled my Dial-a-phone order and got this one instead...

I didn't think we were allowed to deals which relied on cashback and quidco anymore?
#2
Really? That'd suck if it's true, I'd prefer to see them given the option...

Is there any data included on this tarrif?

After 30 days of your contract going live, we will automatically send you a single cheque to the value stated directly to your house. It really is that simple, so enjoy our new deals designed to ensure you, our customers, benefit from the deals you want.

Good deal but hardly Instant

OK, not instant cashback but I presume OP was trying to differentiate between automatic cashback and redemption schemes which require you to jump through hoops and get your money back in stages but only if you do eveything right. With this you get a cheque after 30 days without having to claim anything. Much better unless you are a very organised person.

I *think* all their 'Blackberry' tariffs have a 250 meg fair usage policy, but this is one of the things I'm waiting to confirm when I get it as I couldn't find it explicitly stated on that particular plan. Will confirm in a couple of days once I've got it..

Looks like a good deal but I'd be interested to know when you find out if internet is included. Don't like blackberry anyhow...
#8
I called them up earler, and 250mb is included in the BIS package (which is included). According a thread on blackberryforums, people are apparently struggling to hit 200 megs with relatively heavy browsing usage (in part thanks to data compression at their end). Also seems that they don't enforce the 250 meg as a hard limit, but rather start warning you if you go over significantly / consistently... woooo

Seems like quite a good deal to me. Ive never been a fan of Orange though - can anyone advise on the 3G/BIS coverage in and around West Scotland i.e Glasgow?

I see, how does this compare with 3G? Ive yet to find a better deal for the 8900 but really not convinced about the reliability of the Orange network yet - very mixed reviews for Scotland. Anyone seen a comparable deal on O2?

Thanks,
Martin

Hi

so phoned phones 4 u wrent helpful at all didnt even know what i was talking about and could give me an answer so phoned orange. now orange couldnt say if it was included in that excat deal as they do not sell it but what they did say is that a contract taken out with them at £35 or higher intitles you to free BIS but for that deal they couldnt say. they said for the lower traff they provied 2/3 months free service to BIS so my advice "boob" make sure you ring orange and get confirmation that the BIS free is for the full 18 mnths but they said it cost £7.50 pmth if you dont have it just a note hope that helps ppl

Hi all

phones 4 u emailed me this

"Good Morning

Thank you for your recent email regarding the Blackberry Curve.

I understand that that you are querying about the Internet access on this handset. I can confirm that all Internet access on these handsets are subject to the networks fair usage policy.
I am also able to advise that porting your number will not affect your chequeback claim."

so i emailed them

"Hi

Yes I know about the fair use policy I just want to know if it included in the price I phoned orange they said the contract has to be over £35 to offer it to you free but since orange in not providing it is you they couldn’t comment. But they do give it free for a few months if the contact is below £35 after that its £7.50 they have said. Just want to confirm that it is included for the full 18mths free."

so i got the email

"Dear Sir / Madam,

Thank you for your recent e-mail.

The Orange Panther £35 tariff only offers free internet usage for two months only and not for the full 18-months.

If we can help in any other way, please contact us.

Kind Regards

Alan"

"boob" let me know what happens when you get the contract but this information was via email from phones 4 u.

I got my phone yesterday and registered it this morning. The tariff includes the 500 txts / 600 mins / unlimited blackberry BIS push email, and a panther bolt-on, which in this case is in the form of 250mb blackberry anytime internet browsing. The french guy at the other end of the phone offered to up my allowance to 500 megs for free, which is f**n brilliant, so it turned out to be 500 megs / 500 texts / 600 mins / unlimited push email for £17.77 a month.

If it helps anyone still looking to buy this phone, this will still apply to anyone choosing the same tariff which they still offer (blackberry value panther 35), albeit without the £100 cashback :(

Why not? I've been getting money back from redemption deals for the past 3 years with no problems
