Orange branded and locked phone. Next cheapest is around 260. 230 for a refurb.

9700 Bold also available for 299.

Seems like a good price for a phone. Was gonna go for 8520 but for a bit more might go for this one instead.

Same looking for the 9700 although on O2?
Updating the OS on the device is no problem as I've heard orange like to install a custom albeit cut down BB OS on the device.
Unlocking the device would be the most important issue? Do orange charge, £15 for it?

the 8530 is the US version of 8520. 8520 is indeed newer but lower spec, and some perfer the trackerpad (instead of roler ball).

I would pay the extra cos of the screen. i.e. more than double res so you can actually surf the web.
its got GPS
better camera but no biggie

indeed 9700 would be ideal cos of 3g

yeh the bezel around the 8900 makes me go off the idea from curve 8900, the 8520 looks so muchmroe sleeker, so ti a toss up betwene 8520 and 9700, but i want 9700 looks even sleeker, the qwerty board looks easier to type on and obviously has 3g, better res screen, better camera but dont really care bout that much anyway

This is the cheapest price for both the 8900 and 9700. I guess people just arent impressed by blackberrys. They have gone crazy with Desire.
