In O2 stores you can now choose a contract of £35pm or greater and a free Blackberry handset and with the use of the free choice of one inclusive Bolt On. The Bolt Ons that can be chosen now include the Unlimited Blackberry Internet Service (as long as you have a Blackberry and not to put Blackberry on a non-Blackberry device).

This is not available on-line or over the phone. (I rang them and they didn't know what I was on about!). Also, it's not available to existing Blackberry customers, but you can swap to the bolt on upgrade.

Here's a link for a news article on it:

Hope I've got this right. However, I'd wait until the new Blackberry Bold (9000) comes out in the next 3 months.

So you're saying it's free but only costs £35 - I'd expect free internet on a phone for £35!
You can't connect this to a laptop - against the terms. Also it's actually subject to a FUP! Cold, sorry...

Blackberry Internet Service used to only be an extra for £10. However it is now a "Bolt On" but still £10. With Orange it is £7.50, T-Mobile it is £10 and Vodafone is £10 now I think.

Why would you have the Blackberry Internet Service for connecting to your laptop? You get full internet (html)
and push email up to 200Mb which at the compression rate they use is sufficient for anyone. Also it's not the normal internet you get for instance on a i-phone but provided through Blackberry and thus quicker with better compression. Also, an iPhone shows itself to the internet as a computer and not as a mobile phone and thus is open to any virus/malware/spyware etc...

So, if you get the O2 600 plan with 600 mins and 500 texts, you get full internet and email for £5. Whereas it used to £45 and is with anyone else too. So it is now in fact free and not the usual £10.
