Fantastic deal, have been looking out for cheap deal on these touch lamp for ages. Perfect ordered 6! 3 each. A few in the bedroom and a few for relatives :D
do these use much/any power when the light off? surely something in order to be responsive to the touch?
Thanks, reserved 3 (2 B's & 1 DE) at two stores. (_;)
can someone suggest me a nice bulb to go with these? thanks

Try the "Light" variety as against the "Garden":p The benifit will be illuminating.

Note to all who are colour sensitive - the duck egg that looks blue is actually lime green, I kid you not!
So took 'em back and had to go to Chester for two purple ones. Nothing wrong with the green, but it just wasn't what I expected from what was advertised on Argos' website.
Great post :)

Ordered one for bedroom and one for sitting room.
Added heat.
Don't know how to add rep or i would :)
Damn...none near me at all. How disappointing :(
reserved 3 at different places - yes I need them all !
Thanks OP

On the Duck Egg lamp page it says : Bulbs required 1 x 8W energy saving SES golf ball or 1 x 40W SES golf ball (not included).

But on the same page, Argos recommends Philips 60 Watt Clear BC 4 Pack GLS Bulbs.

I wonder, which type of bulbs this lamp uses?

Yes I too noticed two different descriptions. I got the 6 lamps this afternoon, well worth the £4 each :D. They both take BC upto 60 watts, not the SES golf ball, unless its BC ses golf ball (I dont have a clue what is SES) On the argos reviews bit, people have said it does work with energy saving bulbs but it will damage the dimmer facility. There are 3 light setting on the lamp, dim, mid and high. I'm using a energy saving bulb at the moment as I always try to keep the bill down.
Thanks for the info Matt007.

SES (small edison screw) and bc (bayonet cap) just refer to the type of fiitng the bulb is compatible with. Ses bulbs have to be screwed into the socket.

I was hoping that the lamp took ses, as I have a load of 40w ses golf bulbs that I bought for my old M&S touch lamp, that I later, ruined (the touch dimmining) by spilling water on to it.
Out of stock now for my area. Why am I always the last to know?... LOL
