Blacks camping sale "Vango Banshee 200" £60.00 D of E recommended

MR GUSMR GUS

Not a deal for everyone, ..a snug & compact 2 person tent for lightweight hike camping, i'd prefer this described as a comfortable 1 man tent with plenty of room for kit...
It's 2 at a push with your pack staying outside & covered over by it's rain protector.. other than that a handy little tent to have for bike / motorcycle touring.

This is £80 @cotswold outdoor as far as I can tell IF it's the Banshee 200 2012 Tent ...Blacks have always been slack with product detail on the web, so do ring & ask (manager not weekend staff numpties)

Gooutdoors are £70 but they should price match & beat it by 10% which should take it down to £54 (with a discount card). Providing it is the same model that Blacks have in stock

I hiked the West Highland Way arriving one if these. It coped with 2 nights of very heavy rain perfectly. Especially as I woke up to find it sitting in a puddle.
You do get lighter tents but I doubt you'll find better for the money.

Agreed took mine to norway camping fast pitch, lightweight and a good price paid 2011 version £75 last October
My mate has the 2012 and it's got external canvas under frame (as per blacks picture) which I liked..
I.d agree too definitely a one man and kit kind of tent
Ps. Good post op, not likely to get much heat as clueless hotukdealers vote cold for no discernible reason. But the gooutdoors 10%
refund price match is a cracker

The terra nova tents are far superior but start at the £300-350 price bracket..

Bah, stupid fat fingers on my phone, I've hit neutral by accident when trying to vote hot! This is a great tent for hiking/cycling but certainly just for one person and a bag.

got the 300 , excellent for the money , mates spent hundreds on theirs and mine is the sme size and only a few hundred grams lighter. Make sure its the most recent model which you can pitch all as one or outer first, the older one as far as i remember had to be pitched inner first and then the outer , bit of a pain especially if raining

The pictures look like the 2012 the 2011 is the same pitch technique, the earlier ones 2010 are as you describe..

I remember around 40 years ago as a young teenager I was hugely amused when our Scout group bought a couple of ‘force ten’ tents, they came with a plain brown envelope marked ‘erection instructions’ f’nar-f’nar!

Bargain! I have one - great bit of kit, light, easy and quick to put up, did me well on a -10 snowy camping trip... Not so big though - I'm 5ft 2 and it's not exactly spacious for me... If there were two of you, you'd need to be small, with not much kit, and like each other very much ha!

Still have and use the Vango force ten from some twenty years ago, a legend in the tent world!

Great tent and excellent price. Maybe the best backpacking/expedition 1-2 person tent available at this knockdown price.

I have the earlier model and it has performed well as a lightweight and roomy one person tent for cycle touring. This new model can be pitched inner and outer together which is just the thing for bad weather. It provides good space for one adult with kit but will do two at a push if you are on very good terms. DOE approved. Good for scouting.
The only drawback to mine was that I found it did not provide the luxury of any extra space outside of the inner either for storage or cooking. I could store a few things around the flaps but not enough for my liking. I upgraded to a better tent (Mountain Equipment DragonFly 2XT) but it was a huge leap in price.

    This is a steal.

I went into Blacks in Keswick to get the Vango Banshee 200 but ended up buying the Vango Spectre 200 for £50. All the reviews I read said it was a better tent, and at £10 cheaper it's a no brainer!

Looks a good tent, slightly heavier 600 grams but it depends on your needs, the just listed chinook 200 by vango for £89.99 from go outdoors is a cracking price too when price match and 10% discount versus sports direct
