Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) prowls the steel-and-microchip jungle of 21st century Los Angeles. He's a blade runner stalking genetically made criminal replicants. His assignment: kill them. Their crime: wanting to be human. The story of Blade Runner is familiar to countless fans. But few have seen it like this. Because this is director Ridley Scott's own vision of his sci-fi classic. This new version omits Deckard's voiceover narration develops in slightly greater detail the romance between Deckard and Rachael (Sean Young) and removes the uplifting finale. The result is a heightened[show more] emotional impact: a great film made greater. Most intriguing of all is a newly included unicorn vision that suggests Deckard may be a replicant. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Is Deckard a replicant? As with all things in the future you must discover the answer to find yourself.

great movie.but £8.98 is still over priced for a 80s re-release.

Deckard is a replicant!

are there not 5 diff versions of this film on DVD? and is there only 1 version the final cut on Blu Ray if so why did they not add all diff versions to Blu Ray?
#4
There has been loads of "Final Cuts" of this film. Talk about dragging it out.

"over priced for a 80s re-release."

Rather pay double this than for some of the garbage that calls itself sci-fi these days, plus its more than a simple re-release they actually went back and re-shot some scenes (Dont worry Deckard still shoots first).

"is there only 1 version the final cut on Blu Ray if so why did they not add all diff versions to Blu Ray?"

There is a five disc version available in the US, But the other three discs are only HD-DVD rips if i recall.

There really has not. Theatrical release in 82, directors cut in 92 and final cut 2007, three hardly counts as "loads".

the other 3 discs are dvds, if they were hd-dvd rips then they would be blurays, since they are the same.
but yeah i used to have the import, wish i kept it as its out of print now.

but didnt this version get recalled as some versions had the workprint on the final cut disc instead of the actual final cut? which is why its expensive again, it used to be far cheaper.

anyway to the person who said it was over-priced, this film looks amazing in dvd, i just watched the film on my ps3 so it was upscaled and it looked awesome, so im sure the bluray will look even better.
i enjoyed the film, had not seen it before (at least that i remember, but i know my dad watched it many moons ago and i was in the room, but must have been about 4 or 5 so didnt have a clue what was happening) and it is one of the best sci-fi films ever. and having watched all the extras too, its amazing how the film was even made, and how they remastered it and used ben ford for some parts.

two different endings...one with voice over, one without..original/directors/final, if it is only 3 versions im surprised & its 2 too many! I like the one without the voice-over & it ends in the lift...which one is that ?!!

After having bought every version that came out from VHS on - finally got the 5 disc blu ray of this.
If you haven't already got then this is a decent price.
One of my all time top ten films and still looks great today.

that is the final cut, which is the one for sale here. thats the only version i have seen fully, and yeah the voice over was rubbish, harrison ford hated doing it. and the happy endings were so out of context with the film.

also the final cut had many excellent upgrades done to it, this is how you go back and make a film better, im looking at you mr lucas :)

there is 5 technically. there is the original theatrical release which differed in US and Europe, plus Directors Cut which ironically had nothing to do with Ridley. then there is the Final Cut and also the original Workprint version.

Amazing film and one of the best Blu-rays you can buy!
I have the same encode on HD-DVD and the picture quality is outstanding. You should see how good Alien (1979) looks too!

I will have to buy the Blu-ray at some point as I am selling my 360 and I can't watch the HD-DVD on Windows 7.
