Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) prowls the steel-and-microchip jungle of 21st century Los Angeles. He's a "blade runner" stalking genetically made criminal replicants. His assignment: kill them. Their crime: wanting to be human.

The story of Blade Runner is familiar to countless fans. But few have seen it like this. Because this is director Ridley Scott's own vision of his sci-fi classic. This new version omits Deckard's voiceover narration, develops in slightly greater detail the romance between Deckard and Rachael (Sean Young) and removes the "uplifting" finale. The result is a heightened emotional impact: a great film, made greater. Most intriguing of all is a newly included unicorn vision that suggests Deckard may be a replicant. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Is Deckard a replicant? As with all things in the future, you must discover the answer to find yourself

Sorry, but my local Blockbusters has this (new) for £7 and I'm sure they won't be the cheapest.

Is it worth getting a blu-ray version of an old film?

Not every old film, but this one YES

depends on the film.

you have to remember that before digital, everything was filmed on high quality stock, so if there are still good masters of old movies available, theoretically they should transfer in very good quality to Bluray as actual film is very high resolution.

it's no different than it was when dvd transfers first came about, if the original master tapes still exist, there's no excuse for a poor quality HD transfer.

or, in short: yes.

i actually have the 5 disc final cut boxset on HD-DVD and while the quality on a couple of the various cuts of the film isn't as good as others, the directors cut and final cut transfers are awesome, so i can't see why the BR release would be any different of the Final cut.

The video encoding is identical on both formats. The picture quality is stunning and looks like it was filmed yesterday.

I've seen deals you hotukdealers wouldn't believe.
Attacked Tescos for a shoulder of pork at half price in my Ford Orion.
I watched Call of Duty deals glitter in the temperature stakes that could have heated the Tannhauser gates.
All those deals will be lost in time, like an Amazon mis-price.
Time to get this from Play.
