Hi all,

Just got back from my local Morrisons (Up Hatherley, Cheltenham) and 100ml Blanx Classic whitening toothpaste is on clearance from £6.99 to £2, in a big wire basket in the toothpaste aisle.

Obv. this may or may not just be my store, but it was cleared to get it off the shelves so it is a reasonable assumption that other stores are stopping selling it as well.

Hopefully this will make some of you smile!

I think ARM & HAMMER advanced whitening 75ml 99p from wilkisons is better.

I've seen really great result with it, I've used blanx many many years ago thought It was good but from memory I think arm & hammer is better.

Anyone else agree?

nope...lol

Blanx seems the best to me

Loving the STARFLEET though

none of these whitening tooth paste work very well
complete waste of money
if you want white teeth you need to go for trays with a gel
i have pasted a link to somewhere i have used and are very good cost is £99 but my wife paid £300 pounds for the same treatment in her dentist
plus this really works

thanks for this site.. my misses went to the dentist and got something similar for way more then this. She had to stop using it as her teeth became sensitive so we ended up throwing the kit when it expired :( For £99 though I think I may give it a go :D

As for the deal this looks like a great deal.. will duck down to Morrisons shortly to see if it's nation wide.

I just used this on the build up to my wedding (for that sparkling smile :-D ) in combination with another Blanx whitening product. There was a very marginal difference after persisting with them for 8 weeks so i wasnt overly impressed. Reviews did suggest those with heavily stained teeth may see more of a benefit.

However there was a minus, using these products made my teeth sensitive so after the wedding i stopped using them. I think this is a common side effect of using whitening products so you will have to weigh up what is more important.

amazing wot people will put in there mouths try a non flurohide tooth paste u all might live longer....

These toothpastes that say they are whitening are not, they can only remove surface stains and do so because they are coarser and can abrade away the stains. The only way to truley whiten teeth is to get a product with peroxide in them, which mainly means going to the dentist.

However i was in the USA over the winter and picked up crest whitening strips (which do include peroxide) and these do work 100%. The best thing is that they are available here on the internet and are only about £17 for the 2 week course. Anyone who wants their teeth whitened should go for this as this is the same stuff that you will go to the dentist to pay £100's for.

I used to use this but noticed it doesn't contain floride! The post above says find one without floride becasue you might live longer, but I think floride is good for your teeth - maybe you mean to find one free of SLS's (sulphates) - the stuff that makes it foam up (and shampoo/soaps etc).

Don't use abrasive whittening toothpastes, the likes with baking soada in. These scratch stains off your teeth leaving little grooves on the enamal which them makes your teeth even more susceptible to stains!!! Blanx uses something which is non ebrassive; bamboo I beleive?

Also, anything, like these tray meathoods mentioned above, which use hydrogen peroxide can be bad for your gums and can make your teeth very sensative.

i would agree with arm and hammer. I use the enamel protection and you can really feel it working
#14
Not nationwide, still full price in edinburgh
#15
can't see it in morrisons peckham at all.
#16
Still full price in Cambridgeshire also
#17
Arm + hammer is very good but this is good too especially at this price!
#18
Full price in Bishop Auckland
#19
Still full price at £6.99 in Northampton Morrisons. I think i'll stick to my Sensodyne Pro Enamel as I have quite sensitive teeth too.
#20
none in my local, it's still £6.99 or thereabouts.

Still, have some heat cos it is a great deal you have in your Morrisons.

These are a rip off. You can literally get exactly the same thing from ebay for £3-4 :w00t: It's literally just carbamide peroxide...

I tried them once, but like other people said, my teeth teeth started to feel real sensitive so I stopped :-D

yes you are right in saying it is the carbamide peroxide

but it is the trays which cost the most money as these have to be custom made to fit your teeth

and as far as i know they dont do this on ebay

correct me if im wrong

Nope, but you can get heat shaping ones (like how you set gumshields), though no doubt won't be as good as moulds you get from the dentists :)

the boil and fit trays are not really sufficient as you have to leave in over night
£99 for custom fit trays and the tubes is a good price
i would be surprised to find them cheaper

Sounds like if you are going to do trays, then do those crest stips that some mentioned on the bottom of page 1. Either way, you are risking gum problems or sensative teeth,

They sell these strips on ebay, also search google for crest whitening strips and you will see a reviews page where them where quite a few people mention gum and sensative teeth issues.... SO.. on your own head be it....

I have used the crest strips and they are good to a certain degree certainly better than any whitening toothpaste
but they are not a patch on trays
anyway ive had my say but if you really want white teeth trays are the way to go
its up to you
#25

#26
