Blaupunkt 19" HD TV £62.00 @ Tesco Instore

jambone Avatar

Showing as £79 online at tesco direct however instore is £62. Not sure this is national however this didn't seem to be a managers promotion as it had a normal price ticket and wasn't placed anywhere special in thr store.

Found at the Handforth Store, lots left as of this afternoon.

Mighy be worth calling the store to check stock and price before you make a special journey

Possibly a multi monitor setup. Could you Imagine having a 32" next to a 27" or a 32" next for a 38".

Identical or its just not worth it =]

To be fair, they'd sold their souls to the devil before that. Back in the 80s and 90s, they made some top car stereo stuff. Decent speakers, decent head units. Unlike Pioneer, they didn't try and stick to the top-end market and they started trading on the name, selling £20 6x9s and nasty £50 head units.

I'm not surprised that they ended up selling out. They'd become a cheap box-shifter and had lost their way.

I think regardless of how good the brand is, you really can't go wrong for £62. And if it goes wrong in the first year you've got a tesco warranty.

I doubt anyone on here would turn down something for free, no matter what's happened previously. You must be the exception to the rule

Yes as everyone who owns a Blaupunkt TV has been involved in a fight at a supermarket. You aren't allowed to take this TV without at least punching someone at the checkout.

I hate having to read comments from people such as "I remember when they used to be a good brand" etc. Go and pay top dollar for a good brand if that is what you want. There's no point at all insinuating that people could get better quality when the bloody thing is for sale at £62! I got the 32" and 50" models on black Friday and the quality is excellent for watching stuff with a Chromecast or connected to a pc. The quality of sky broadcasts is very mediocre though and I'm not sure why that is or if it can be improved but for me it's not an issue as the kids are the only ones that use the sky. I paid £99 for the 32" model and I don't need any smart asses hinting to me that there are better quality TV's on the market. Price to performance ratio on these is outstanding in my opinion although I can't speak for the lifeline of them yet. Fingers crossed however a 5 year warranty for free isn't to be sniffed at.

My above comment "I can still remember the days when Blaupunkt was a top quality brand name.
Now its just cheap Chinese tat" seems to have opened a can of worms.
Buying a Blaupunkt product years ago was like buying Onkyo products today where you would expect and get top quality and a product you could be proud to own.
Imagine Ferrari being made by Fiat and assembled in a factory in China and producing the new model Ferrari Panda.

Not one of you claiming the brand is rubbish have any first hand experience to back up your claims !!

I've bought one of these today for our kitchen and I must say for the price paid I can't find any faults' the picture is good! The sound is good! The build quality is good!

What do you people want for £62.00 - would you like it gift wrapping ? Perhaps if it was free you'd still claim ( without any evidence ) it's not good enough?!

Tighter then a ducks backside comes to mind ;-)

It gets a 10 from Len or my names whateverrrrrrrrr.

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Seems to describe you quite well whateverrrrrrrrrrrr

Just a quick review on the TV now i have used it.

I've placed it wall hung in my kitchen to replace an old original type 'flat screen' that wasn't widescreen - which was about as flat and a block of cheese stood vertically.

Picture quality - Very good, only 720p but looks good because it's a small TV and the Pixel density is obviously a lot higher than the equivalent 32" would be. It looks infinitely better than my old TV that was there.

Remote control - No the best laid out remote in regards to button placement but it is a full size remote and not one of those half size ones you sometimes get with smaller TV's and cheap freeview boxes - which i think is a nice bonus.

Look of the TV - It looks very nice, very slim with small shiny black bezels too. It's speakers are the full width of the TV, front facing at the bottom but small enough not to be noticed.

Sound - The sound could be a lot better but for watching something in the morning or while i'm cooking or in the kitchen, it's perfectly acceptable and goes nice and loud too. I would say, with a chrome cast attached i may find myself listening to more music that i did via my previous TV, if that turns out to be the case am strongly going to consider finding myself a small sound bar to attach.

Additonal Info: Picked up all the freeview channels without issue and setup took about 5 minutes.

Bonus features - 2 features that I liked are the Pause and Record live TV (which you need to plug in a usb or external Harddrive to use) and the 'radio' button on the top of the remote, which is very convenient when i just want to quickly navigate to only music.

Overall for the money i am extremely impressed, especially once I got it home and relised that it has the Pause and record feature. The only thing I would have liked would have been a slightly better layout for the tv guide. On my main tv it shows the channels and whats on those channels at a particular time, that way it's easy to see, at 9pm for instance, that BBC is showing XXXX and ITV is showing AAAA. With this TV's guide you select the channel and then it shows you what's on that channel only for upto 7 days so if you are a channel hopper like me, there is no easy way to compare what's on at a particular time. If someone else has the TV and has manage to change this somehow, please let me know,

For the record I didn't say there was anything wrong with this TV and it was a great price. I simply posted info as requested - "evidence to back this up"
