This deal starts on Boxing Day!

I'm not sure how national this deal is but I saw at least one pallet (about 10 TV's) and official Point of Sale come in today, and £99 for a 32inch LED TV can't be bad. It's part of the Tesco clearance sale, along with a load of JVC and other brand headphones that were reduced to a fiver too!

IT'S OOS ONLINE. Stores will have stock tomorrow morning from opening!

Merry Christmas!

If you activate your warranty with UMC within the first 7 days of purchase you receive 6 months extra warranty for free.

Making it 18 months in total.

A lot of 720 TV's actually display higher when connected. My samsung 52" plasma is 720 but displays 1080i when connected to my XBOX and PS3.

720p is practically the same as 1080i. It is not 1080p

yeah, that's why they are different - idiot

what's next - b&w is the same as colour ?

You need to read what you put. 1080i uses interlaced frames effectively doubles each frame so you get ghosting and scan lines. Progressive scan draws each line so 1080i is not 1080p. In layman's terms you're stretching the quality of 720p therefore 720p will be a better quality image abeilt smaller

So no, 1080p is not the same as 1080i. A bluray player etc will no play a bluray in full HD on this TV. If however this is going to stuck in the bedroom hooked up to free view HD or sky HD then its fine as they only use 1080i signal

The resolution of 1080i is 1920 x 1080. To output at 1080i you need a full hd set. A hd ready set can not output at 1080i, that is impossible. Image wise 1080i and 1080p are the same, they are just delivered to the screen differently.

Not quite as 1080i is interlaced so you only see half the amount of pixels at any one time. Its a funny situation as in theory, there are only 13% more pixels in 1080i compared to 50% more in 1080p. You TV will then scale the extra 13% for you TV.
Just placed £ 99.00 order @ Tesco online:

Depth 190mm? Is that right?
I was going to ask if anyone knew if the freeview tuner was HD or not. The specs just says just freeview so I was assuming no and then I realised that the screen is not full HD so there would be no need for the tuner to be HD anyway.
Nevertheless, this is a bargain and if I was not after a smart tv I would have bought this like a shot. Yes I know I can get an external box cheap to make the tv smart but I'm a bit picky and just want everything built in to the tv(including wireless). I am optimistic over the course of the sales period there will be some similarly discounted tvs coming on line. If that does not happen and if this tv is still in stock at 99 quid then I may buy it after all.
I also just ordered. We have an old brick tv so this will do lovely as our first 'modern' tv! Lol
