Mind you, the Free view on this TV is not HD, and is standard quality.

I got the 39" model for gaming which is great.

How would i get Free view HD on this TV? I don't have an outdoor aerial.

Thanks

I will be using mine with a sky hd box so wont have any use for freeview.

The only way to get past not having an outdoor ariel is to get a decent indoor one or get Sky or Virgin TV.

50hz and no mention of input lag figures does not = ""great for gaming" in my book!

It's cheap. It will suffer motion blur.

But then, only the really top of the line LCD based sets reduce blur to a level I'd be happy with ....

Just set mine up with the Sky hd box. Picture quality is good and 3d works surprisingly well. The remote control and menu's are responsive too. Just need to tweak the picture to my liking now.

Just try watching a WC match on it or playing FIFA

You'll revise your description from Great Budget TV to just budget TV.

I have had 1st hand experience of the 32" & 39" sets

Cheaper TVs are a false economy.

I try to economise on lots of things but TVs are one area where I try to spend a little extra

Wimbledon looks good to me on HD. Will test out the gaming consoles later :)

Yeah, I'm happy with it so far. I feel like I got a bargain.... Just finished watching Gravity in 3d and came away very impressed!

Put an outside aerial inside.

Have now updated as it's available to buy online for the same price.

does any one what is standard warranty period by Sainsbury on this?
#14
I have a 24 inch one for close to a year, I've really enjoyed using it. Granted the blacks are not perfect on it but it has served my laptop and ps3 very well.
#15
If they go wrong its back to the manufacturer who are basically crap, I had a Blaupunk TV it went wrong after 6 weeks and I had to send it to the manufacturer who sent it back missing the screws and remote it took 4 weeks to get it sorted out

It's 1 year and Sainsbury's have a very good returns policy in my experience.

I bought one of these a few months back when it was £279 and it has been great, the 3d is very good.

It has 12 months Sainsbury's warranty but there should be in the box a registration document that you register and it ups the warranty to 18 months, there is also an offer I think for a lifetime warranty in the box (lifetime usually meaning about 7 years for a TV) for £40 or £50 can't remember exactly.

Quite happy with mine, cheap yes but looks nice and has a nice piano black finish.

I got this TV a few months ago when it was reduced to £279, was thinking it is just a basic 1080 p TV for the money, nothing to write home about when it comes to displaying TV images etc, but were this TV did impress me was using it for my ps3 and ps4, I have a toshiba 1080p and the blaupunkt beats it by miles, no motion blur and no more tired eyes after a long gaming session, the toshiba was giving me motion sickness especially with fast moving games including gta5, now on the blaupunkt gta looks amazing and this TV gives games far more depth. I also have a Panasonic vierra led 1080p but still prefer the blaupunkt for gaming and the Panasonic for TV images.

If anyone wants the colour contrast settings etc that I found best for gaming let me know and I will post them up on here. it took me a few hours to get it what I think is spot on.

I can confirm this is nationwide as I bought one a week ago at the Shorehead Huddersfield one.

If you want to tweak the tv picture further like a computer monitor (rgb settings) you can get into the service menu by pressing the menu button then press 1 1 4 7

Lots of extra settings to play about with for all you techy geeks ;-)

Is this the same model with this one? http://www.ebuyer.com/649821-blaupunkt-42-188j-42-led-3d-full-hd-tv-42-188j
Ebuyer does not mention if it comes with 3d glasses like Sainsburys

Better spending a bit more for something of better quality, like a Bush.

looks like the same model, but ebuyer have a terrible refund/returns policy. There is a section in their t&c's that explains it all. I used to buy stuff from them quite a bit, but not anymore. Good price though!

Really? I never got offered one when I purchased mine. I may have to go back and see if I can get one.

Can anyone else confirm this and I will update my deal?

Maybe they weren't aware that you get a free nowtv box, but it definately is free if you scan both the tv and the box together. The orange nowtv box is the one you get free.
