one thing I hate about the harmoney range is you need to pretty much point the remote directly at the equipment as there is no z wave like the sky remote.

Pretty poor IMO
#2
The Harmony 895 supports z-wave.
#3
Oh does it?
I thought all harmony's were all non z-wave.

Sold my harmony 1 as found it worse than my 515 I bought for 29.00

Might check that out, nice 1

Actually just looked, its like 200.00, No thanks, not that hard up for z-wave.. LOL Its only a 2.00 chip

With the money you save on this deal you could buy the Harmony RF Wireless Extender to solve that problem.

For £199 I'll get my ass off the sofa and press the buttons myself, or just use the remotes I already have.

i have this as the hubby said it would help me with the tv/surround/sky/ps3/wii/etc... and it does.

now this is from a woman's perspective who's not into gadgets at all. I want to watch sky, so i press sky, it turns telly on, selects sky input, turns sky on, turns surround sound on, selects sky input and bobs your uncle, without me having to remember everything setting wise. Same with ps3 for if i want to watch a film. Turns sky off, changes tv input to ps3, turns surround sound over to ps3 input, and i'm done

the good thing is also all my favourite buttons for the programmes i watch on sky

If it does then that shouldn't be problem. Just one more remote to program into the Harmony 1100 remote!

is the issue mentioned above about pointing directly to the equipment an issue in your case?
Im thinking about getting one, but not if it requires target practice to use it.

I haven't notice this on mine though. It might not be as great as Sky remote, but it is for sure better then mine Panasonic remote. I have the Harmony One by the way and it is great as well. Got rid of 5 remotes

It is a great price for this, but way to much for me. Will stick to harmony one - still a lot, but at least can buy for less than 100£

What the heck.....???

Nearly two hundred notes for something that does the same job as the remote which came with my TV ???

No Thanks.

This amount for a bloody remote ?
It would need to look like and be shaped like Lois Griffin and have soft boobs and a realistic vagina for me to pay that much !!!

Why spend £20,000 on a new car when a £500 banger will do the same job? Why buy a new flat screen big TV when a colour portable from freecycle will do the same job?

Not everyone earns the same amount of money, not everyone has the same bills to pay at the end of the month. If I`ve got £500 a month spare to spend on fun toys and gadgets, why does that mean I need my head reading? All it means is that I earn a good wage, and can afford to spend what I want on what I want. Got two ipads for example - yes there are cheaper options out there, but none as good. Why should I settle for second best, just because not everyone can afford the very best? :-)

If this is the most "fun" thing you can find for £200, you're wasting your life. I earn plenty of money, but I don't waste it for the sake of it. I'm also a consultant gynaecologist, so I know a tw*t when I see one.

People need to understand.. Yes this is expensive if you only have a TV and set top box.

But some people like there AV gear and have lots more, I like to push 1 button and have my TV, Amp, Blu ray player, lights turned down and curtains closed for movie time.

Clearly most people who dont see the need for a remote like this (granted i wouldnt buy this model at £200, but I have a harmony one, since i prefer it over a almost complete touchscreen one), obviously only have a tv with nothing else.

If i just had a single tv, with a single remote, of course I wouldnt have any need for something like this, but when you have a system which consists of 10 or more remotes, then yes, i'd much rather have a single one to control everything.

100% agree

The remote is on the market because people want it and will buy it. And if someone wants it paying 182£ for it is clearly better than paying 300£

Am I missing something or this is the wrong forum? Why some totally useless statue for couple of 1000£ gets 1000 degree heat then??

2 ipads..

Good deal for those wanting to buy one, although i feel if you'll not use the RF capability and just need to control 10 equipments or less - the Logitech One makes more sense at half the price. Also it feels better in the hand :)

Protip: the pound sign goes before the amount - like this - £100

I don`t have enough kit to make this remote worthwhile, but if I did I`d be interested. As someone else said, press a single button and it gets everything setup for you. If all you`ve got is a V+ box and a TV it`s a waste of money.

As for not wasting money - I bet what you consider to be "not wasting" your money, others on here would see as a luxury. You try to insult me for wanting to buy decent quality kit - feel free. Buy cheap tat if you want, that`s your choice. Just don`t resent people who buy higher quality stuff, it really doesn`t show you in a good light.

2 ipads..

Your point is what? One for me, one for the wife. It`s only £600 for both of them, what`s the big deal?
#38
This site is called hotukdeals for a reason. If you can find this remote cheaper then it is a cold deal.

Yes, you can find an all in one remote for £10 but it won't technically similar (colour LCD screen etc) or be as easy if at all possible to control 5 or more devices.

It's difficult enough to find deals with this sites search facility but don't make it harder by voting this cold if you can't find it cheaper. Personally I haven't got the money to waste on this remote and am still programming the Pronto I bought many years ago, when I did have spare cash.
If this is like the pronto you will always find the odd error and spend the rest of your life correcting it.

Strange. Your posting history tells me you're a consultant liar, but nothing about the gynaecologist bit.
Better luck next time Simon.

dunno what the fuss is all about.
good price if you're after one but if you're not then just jog on cos you clearly dont have a use for one of these with your 1 telly and sky box set ups.
these are a great add on to a proper home AV setup
