Blockbuster £1.00 unlimited trial for 1 Month

Blockbuster have improved their trial from 2 weeks to 1 month unlimited 2 discs at a time. Use code MOVIES

Can't use this myself as I took up the recent 5 week offer from KGB.

Quidco & Topcashback has now been removed, well done to everyone who got in quick.

I'm on my 3rd week, I believe you can cancel online. Just make sure all discs are returned when you cancel. Don't forget to take your list down to 0 near the cancel date as they send out new discs the same day they receive yours back.
#3
can you use this for games, or is it dvds and blurays only
#4
dvds any blu rays mate, Good service, And when you click cancel online they make you phone up to confirm, and they offer you loads of other packages, The number is a 0845 number, Nos ure on the cost :/
#6
Crap service, you never get the titles from the top off your list, they never answer emails and then make you phone up to cancel, even though they have the option online!
#7
where do you put the code in? I seem to be getting the deal, just at the stage where I've entered my credit card info, I've only to hit the START RENTING button but I've not entered a code yet? Do you actually have to enter the MOVIES code?

Ring **01895**258866** and ask to be transferred.

Still rumours around about Blockbuster's cashflow problems.

I didn't enter any code and I got a month for £1, went through Quidco, maybe that made a difference? Somebody said you don't get your top choices, they've already posted me numbers 1 and 2 on my list, so not a bad service IMO. Thanks for posting, great deal, heat added.

Your welcome, most of mine have been at the top of my list including some new releases, seems a decent service. I can understand them wanting you to phone up and cancel as it gives them a chance to offer other deals to try and keep you.
#15
I found them to be ok, but looks like the standard deal that anyone who looks around can find. Same with lovefilm where you ahve always been able to get 1 month or for resubscibers 3 months for 1.
#16
I got my Quidco tracking confirmation email the day after I joined Blockbuster. Good service so far.

There isn’t one rental company who is able to make the business model work - unless they happened to own all the movie studios. Thereafter, the true business model is, “Rob Peter to pay Paul”. Let the pros battle it out with the cons before they both realised that they could never have what they wanted - that is was all about hopes and dreams, oka geed-kum-fear, and not reality.

The digital realm is about being able to print money without being a government which is why these nuts-kum-screws are so protective of their “Digital Rights”. Much like “King Fizz” is selling water for the price of an addiction, the price being charged for “Digital Rights” is akin to robbing the patsey before he wakes up. The problem with “Digital Rights”, then, is when you try squeezing blood from the stone[d] - those pour tree-stumps over thar. Yes, start categorising them and Bob’s yer Unc. Having said that, BB is better than Lovefilm which is then better than its many patsies - but only just - should you know how to complain and make a fuss. It is no bother and you are only making an honest Joe out of them - much like other Digital Rightists like Sky and Company.

if i call up to cancel my lovefilm will they offer me any incentives to stay does anyone know, i dont really wanna cancel as i want some sort of film rental, but would be quite happy to jump around on the free trials etc. unless lovefilm offered a good discount to stay as i dont mind paying for it.....

I had a trial with lovefilm (good service IMO) but cancelled for the KGB/Blockbuster offer. Lovefilm didn't offer me a deal to stay at the time but I have now received a pay for 1 month 2nd month free card if I go back. I believe there is a 2 month free code they give as well so may hold out for this.

id be very cautious about using this just for the cashback as doing so (on multiple accounts) may affect your quidco account & no guarantee of the £12:-

Blockbuster has every right to decline commission if it appears that the registration is purely to qualify for an incentive. Please do not attempt to exploit this programme. Remember that Quidco accounts must be used on a one person to one account basis and we will shut down accounts where we feel this is being abused

Well, lets leave the multiple account angle for a moment - but from a marketing perspective, isn't 'signing up just for the cashback' phase one of the 'plan', in the hope x% of people carry on after experiencing the service?

or maybe they just give cashback on some weird left wing 'spread the wealth' communist vibe? Nah I thought not ;)

I've used both Lovefilm and Blockbuster recently. Got the KGB deals code for Blockbuster, but only after I'd emailed them to ask for it. I've found that both Lovefilm and Blockbuster are great when you start your free trial - discs turned round quickly, top choice discs usually supplied. But once you get a bit into the trial, it all seems to fall apart. With both companies, after a couple of weeks, replacement discs not issued until two days after you return them, nothing from your top choices issued. Don't really know if this is deliberate or not, though you would have thought they would try hard to give you good service just at the time when you are thinking about renewing - or not. Not sure which, if either, to renew with now. Lovefilm seem to offer better deals to persuade you to renew - I was offered a two months for the price of one deal. But Blockbuster has a lot of titles which Lovefilm no longer offer - new series of House MD, 30 Rock, Caprica, if those are your thing. I believe Lovefilm no longer carries new releases from Universal Studios, so you'd have to go to Blockbuster to get these. Lovefilm used to promise that they carried "every film available for rental in the UK" - no longer the case.

I've cancelled and renewed with Lovefilm a couple of times now, never had any problem cancelling. They may try to sell you another deal by phone, but they aren't pushy, and you don't have to take it.

Really? I have been with them for 3 years, the BEST service by far for dvd rentals, I always get the top of my list, turnaround from posting is, post, they recieve the next day, I recieve the day after.

I never get any titles I haven't selected (unlike Lovefilm).

I would not have stuck with them for 3 years if they weren't the best!

Worth the risk IMHO for a months rental.

Cannot believe some of the comments on here. oO Is £1 too much even if the quidco doesn't come through ? You can cancel, no one is holding a gun to your head.

Red hot for me.
#36
Just something to watch for if you are cancelling - make sure you leave plenty of time for the discs to get back by post. In the past, I've had discs take nearly a week to arrive from the time I've posted them.

An important difference between Lovefilm and Blockbuster worth noting - Lovefilm will accept a disc as "lost in the post" four working days after posting, and will send you a replacement on the fourth day. Blockbuster make you wait nine days before they accept a disc is lost in the post, so you could have a long gap between rentals you are paying for, when it's not your fault. I've had three discs "lost in the post" in the past, and they have always arrived eventually, but I've been left with only one rental disc for nearly two weeks, even when paying the full subscription. In one case a disc was "lost in the post" for twelve days.

Thanks :) It's worth the £1 just for the dvd rentals. The £12 cashback is just a sweeeet bonus.

do we really need this crap every time you post?
can you not just read your post aloud for the sound of your own voice but then stop short of hitting submit?

Hot from me, just applied. Cashback is a result too.
