Blockbuster: 3 Months' Unlimited Movies & Games (2 disc) for £9.99 (+£10 marketplace voucher ?) - HotUKDeals

Generic store closing offer of 3 months' unlimited online movie/Blu-ray/game rental (2 disc max at any one time) +£10 marketplace voucher for a one-off £9.99.

This package is normally £9.99/month so this represents a 66% saving and, in theory, gets you a £10 voucher. However it is unclear whether this voucher is delivered in month 4 or during the first 3 months

Does not appear to be limited to brand new subscribers as I have used the 1 month free trial (then cancelled) in the past and accessed this offer without problem (so far).

I am using it to clear my Lovefilm "Unavailable to rent" backlog!

I have it. Works well enough. Can't get the brand new games from my list and swap movie in store is for £1.49 games. But this 3 months thing is a right bargain

Link didn't work for me: try https://www.blockbuster.co.uk/special/ if anyone experiences similar problems.

That's odd as the link you cite is the one I used in my OP. All links go through an HUKD referral link so suspect it may have gone wrong there...

Perfect timing! Have been mulling cancelling my existing package as not really getting the most out of it and thought I might save some cash. Was able to activate this on an active account (said it would apply the offer from my next bill date) and this way I get to keep things running without interruption, but still benefit from the saving.

Many thanks indeed OP and, unsurprisingly, heat added!

Thanks! I also used this on my current account which I pay £9.99pm for 2 discs anyway, so I've basically got 2 free months and a £10 voucher :)

Sounds good I clicked from the link onto 'start renting' but no mention of the £10 voucher in the summary?

There is no mention of the £10 voucher indeed.

Here is the summary of the previous offer (1 month trial + £15 voucher on becoming a paying member):

Here is the summary for this offer (3 months for £9.99, but no mention of the £10 voucher)

Anyone know what's this special deal card? Looks like the £10 voucher will come up only when the special deal card is used.

kaku_lala - not sure, do you need a code then for the £10 voucher?

Tempted, but before the 3 months is up, can you cancel and not be charged any more?
And when do you get the £10 voucher, and is it just to spend online?

Thanks
#11
Yeah. Definitely looks like you need that code to get this deal

Yeah. Definitely looks like you need that code to get this deal

They don't mention that on the big Tin Tin promotion advert. No mention of the voucher anywhere.
#13
True, it's misleading. You don't get the voucher if you click the 'No Special Deal Card? Start renting' button.
banned#14
lol so they promote this and don't tell you how to get the code?
#15
Why doesn't somebody just contact Blockbuster and ask?
#16
Aren't stores issuing codes as a sweetener when they're about to close down, as the OP explained?
#17

Here's another deal

5 weeks free and a £20 marketplace voucher

Again, it requires a code...

This one looks like a non-unique promo code, same as the ones before (FBFREE15 & MSE2012), but none of them work anymore.

I'm advising you on doing so, I myself am not vaguely interested in this deal and I were just simply advertising one of the people asking the questions to give an answer to everyone from the company actually hosting/selling the deal.

So you read all comments in deals you have no interest in?? Why?

I read the last comment and saw it was a clueless one about the deal, so obviously if they are a sensible mature person then they would of scanned through the comments first without making an enquiry about it, so I were simply just suggesting to contact the seller, surprised nobody has done it yet and you are all just trying to slate on to me, completely forgetting about the deal just because of my blunt but useful advise, use it or not

Is Blockbuster even any good? Their highstreet chain has always been about mainstream films... more into the world cinema, anime and gay interest sections of Lovefilm - if there's stuff that wasn't in LF's catalogue then I'd love to try it out, especially for free.

They're ok, but I don't think you'll find gay porn there.

I signed up for the £25 voucher but now when I check my deal, it makes no mention of the voucher at all weird just says I have a ordinary plan...

Same here, mine was £15 voucher, no mention of it anywhere.

Also, I have looked around (using google), but I can't find any voucher/code for the £10 offer mentioned by OP. Probably, those are unique codes handed out by stores.

Incidentally, the other deal (30 Day Free + £15 voucher on becoming a paying member is still working):

CODE: FBFREE15

Odd... I'll give them a call tomorrow just to verify and let you know what they say.

I'm sure it's fine just I'd like the voucher that's what got me interested in the first place...

Do blockbuster deliver games?

Yep. Pretty good service. Its very much like Lovefilm. Minus the streaming service and Vita/PSP games. they have afew movies that Lovefilm dont however.
#30
Sold. Just paid for this month with lovefilm but I'll cancel that asap and go with this. Can't argue with the price and the selection isn't bad by any means.
#31
I am already on the 1 month free and £15 voucher offer, so I gave this a go and my next 3 months will cost only £9.99, BARGAIN!

Also, I must say, so far I have been pretty impressed.
#32
nice deal, thanks
#33
Anyone know how long this deal is live for? I just signed up for the FREE 30 days + £15, but if I move to 3 months for £9.99 it will switch my package over, so I'd quite like to do it in about 29 days' time!

I used your code but again no confirmation of £15 voucher.

Has anyone called them about this?

Yes, as per the OP, games are included in the deal

The reason I am doing this is the mass of Universal films that Lovefilm have never been able to rent out that Blockbuster has...

Quick question, can you cancel before times up to avoid paying? :p

No, you pay the £9.99 on signing up. You can cancel your subscription to prevent charges for month 4 and onwards of course.
#38
I too signed up for the free months subscription.

I was just about to apply this new offer to my subscription, but noticed the lack of 'Unlimited' rentals mentioned in the new subscription (outside of the 3 month trial period, that is)

My current subscription says thus:

Old Package
Rent 2 DVDs or games at a time, Unlimited rents per month
Rent 2 DVDs or games at a time, Unlimited rents per month

New subscription (this deal) says thus:

New Package
Offer - Rent 2 movies or games at a time, plus discounted store rentals, £9.99 for 3 months
3 Months Unlimited Movies & Games for £9.99

Will I lose my ability to rent unlimited movies per month? Because I go through a hell of a lot of films.

Maybe Blockbuster want a way to remove the 'unlimited' feature from many's people's accounts that may have signed up?

Can anyone confirm?
