note: Pre-order Price [email protected] £39.99 but if it drops before launch on 23rd September you get the cheapest price.

Blu Diamond 5" droid 6 mobile, with clear TPU gel skin and screen protector and headphones.

from googling its most likely IPS screen(854x480,196ppi). and the main 5MP camera has F/2.8 sensor (auto focus) and looks a fairly large lens so hopefully photos are good, has 2MP front cam.

Its 512mb ram and 4gb rom but with Android 6 memory management and storage options its not an issue.(sd card can be set as a system drive, can take 64gb microSD).

has Blu's photo fix (poor mans slider based photoshop in the cam app.

1.3ghz quad core and mali 400 gpu. and 3g (can never get good 4g signal in my area so don't care lol)

marshmallow uses encrypted drive by default has massive battery saving compared to older droids and app permission native (like rooted firewall app).

its gold back front is black, it looks ok to me, the tpu gel case can be seen in the sales PDF from Blu's site, can not tell if its clear or clear sides frosted base.

looks like alloy centre frame too.

[email protected] video recording.

very long standby time.

spec @gsm arena - http://www.gsmarena.com/blu_diamond_m-8251.php

manufactures link @ http://bluproducts.com/devices/diamond-m/

sales PDF @ http://s536785483.onlinehome.us/salesguides/images/salesguides/diamond-m-sg.pdf

only other options I have seen for sub £50 droid on 5.1 or 6 and sim free are china phones.

net locked phones including the forced £10 top-up most do are no better and mostly 4inch misty screened and usually have crud cameras. are not dual sim either.

Vodafone option -LG leon 4(4g) at £29+£10 top-up-known crud camera no case,droid5,4.5inch and slower cpu+gpu, less standby etc.

EE and o2 and virgin option - pixi 4 (had it, would not give £20 for it, its bad in every way, like rook)

argos - alba sim free 2mp cam, gel case don't no much about it but is not archos rebrand like the bush phones.(looks alcatel to me).

theres more but so far the Blu seems the best deal and hopefully turns out ok or it goes back as its hyped up a lot on blues site for its build, screen and cam so fingers crossed lol.

Blu are well known for good screens too.

can not think of much more to add.

will update on the phone it self when I have it, let you know if its a gem like they say or well a fat lemon.

"duel" sim? Does that mean the sim cards will fight each other? (_;)

"Its 512mb ram and 4gb rom but with Android 6 memory management and storage options its not an issue".

Android 6 is only just usable on a 1GB RAM handset. 512MB RAM is a step to far, every app will need to be loaded from scratch all the time because no apps will be retained in memory, it will all be consumed by the system and launcher.

corrected
and as for ram droid 6 can run on low ram due to its design for this screen rez etc 400 is recommended but yeah if you need snappy multi tasking with multiple apps then you ned a higher ram phone.
I use it like one thing at a time and don't care if it take a few seconds to load as long as its good after loading.

its still a good deal either way there's always something better at a higher price but if you find a sub £50 phone that's better and still sim free then feel free to post up and link here.

Nah sorry it's 2016 I'm not having that 4gb/512mb is remotely acceptable.

Get a £20 Vodafone Smart First 7 if it is.

Sorry OP ice cold, but fair play for the detailed post.

Vodafone Smart First 7 is a no go its 3.5 low rez screen droid 5.1 and locked to Vodafone, fixed focus cam no case and cost £20+£10 on a tariff I don't want also allot of apps will not work due to the very low rez screen on it.(had a pulse mini with that issue)
its up to you (everyone reading) if you give it a try, I listed as compared to others for the sub £50 mark this seems the best deal. 5inch screen 5mp cam with auto focus and flash and droid 6 and case etc, yes you can pay more for better or lock your self to network and a bad tariff that may not suit your needs its you call.
as for ram etc I don't see an issue apps will run and storage can be expanded with microSD select dedicate to system and it becomes system ram. so I am ok with it.

good luck to anyone that pre orders like my self and hope its not crap lol.
if its not suitable for your needs then don't buy it lol and as for the 'i wouldn't even give this to a child due to the frustration it would cause.' well don't know till you try and teaching a kid patience at a young age must be a good thing right? they gotta learn at some point.

that's me done till I get it bye

KitKat claimed to run with 512MB RAM. Yes it ran but it was painfully slow. My nephews (4+3) have a Smart First 7 each (£20, no top up needed with Argos FastTrack) but it's only really useful for watching YouTube on and a few simple games.
As for saying about memory management on Marshmallow, you can't store all your apps on memory card. Many apps, such as banking, will always store to internal storage. Some, such as Sonic 1 and 2 will store to internal even though they'd be movable to memory card under Lollipop.

went into the ebay one the alfa5 you linked is droid 5.1 (I prefer 6) and would cost £6 more in case and screen guard.
from china. also look into warranty and returns on those china phones, its almost better to take it as no warranty on a cheap phone.
at least on amazon its easy return if it dies.
but thanks anyway.

in marshmallow you can set an sd card as internal memory.
its not the old move to SD (that's still there) you can choose how to use the SD card

Yes I know what you're saying. I have a Marshmallow phone with a card set as adoptable storage. You can't store every app on the memory card. The feature is a Godsend though as my phone has 8GB internal storage and still has 1GB free BUT as I mentioned before some apps will always reside in internal storage.

anyway yep its ordered and I will give it a go as the Chinese units on ebay don't do it for me and read there return/warranty lol not good.
as long as the battery life and camera is ok and the screen is ok I will be happy until then I will just leave this here to freeze lol,.
my notify at the tops says load marking as hot but its getting colder lol, never mind.
-25 chilly :)

2gb ram must be the minimum spec if you don't want to run out of app space , well that's my recommendation , ive a umi rome with 3gb and that was £60 but as some small problems like most china phones.

Don't forget guy's you can always buy and try and then return within 30days if you don't like it, I've done it many times with Amazon no questions asked!

I take it it's been removed for dodgy reasons!

Yes, the dodgy reason is that Hukdeals doesn't do ebay links. if you're interested you can search for item number 262303723725

release now 8th Oct so nearly a month until it hits the door, so I am out, most likely the only one that ordered lol so the hunt is back on and stuck on the lumia 620 for longer.
if a mod wants to delete go for it.
