Cant believe this isnt included in the box, probably only costs a quid to make but at least they could of used it to partly justify the price. Why sony, why?
#3
Agree should be in the box, sony are just tryin to make money left, right and center.

If can wait a bit this should come down in orice to about £10 or so, very soon.:prop:

It doesn't even come with the required HDMI cable (for blue-ray)

Blu-ray is going to be Sony's betamax for the decade...

Yeah, normally I'm a fan of Sony, although never cheap, they are normally very high on quality. But for the high definition format i'm really hoping HD-DVD wins Sony have shone from the PS3 saga that they really are after squeezing as much cash as is humanly possible out of people.

Won't the wireless gamepad do just as good a job? The only reason people bought a DVD remote for the PS2 was because the wired gamepads were not wireless? Or does this do more than that?
#8
Another thing, you notice that this remote is bluetooth as opposed to the standard IR so they are clearly not giving the option to use the old ps2 remote.

I love my bravia, vaio, ps2, psp and everything sony, but i am not at all interested in the ps3 until they sort themselves out - game wise, price wise and format wise, come on sony dont let us down!

Have you seen the recent sales figures for HD-DVD sales V BLU-RAY sales, BLU-RAY comes out on top on pretty much every chart.

Sony get alot of stick for betamax but many consider it was a superior format.

hmmmm now who was it who brought us the Compact Disc?

Phillips?

And Sony, it was a joint thing.

Blu-Ray is more resiliant(scratch resistance wise), has more capacity and is out selling HD-DVD.

The biggest factor though is support from Hollywood Studios, and Blu-Ray is well ahead in the department too. The only exclusive support HD-DVD has is Universal, whereas Blu-Ray has Columbia Pictures, MGM, Disney, Lionsgate and 20th Century Fox. So if you want to watch any of those you need Blu-Ray.

They only created the scratch resistance layer as it was getting scratched easily and the data was becoming damaged. It's as scratch resistance as a HD-DVD but HD-DVD are cheaper so easily replaced :)

Oh and there's a 51gig HD-DVD disk coming out, so it has got more capacity at the moment, but only for a few more months.
