that's better :)
HOT for spiderman 3!

edit: consider expiring/spam the others to be removed...

I voted cold for the reason I posted in the swordfish post...

I don't think any of them are good deals. Most if not all of them wont benefit from High Resolution, so I'd just get the DVD version. That's just my opinion though, we'll see how hot they get.

Better as a single post though,

Most films of the recent past are filmed in 1080p anyway then downscaled for DVD so your point is not really valid. All of these films will display in 1080p, and will look superior to their DVD counterparts.
#4
yeah, but the films are a bit shoddy.....

polish a turd anyone?
#5
Objective question, the quality of the films may not appeal to all but based on price these are hot deals.
#6
Have some heat. One or two of the films aren't that bad and the price is good for Blu ray.

My point was they look fine on DVD they're not big blockbuster titles like say Iron Man, that would actually benefit from blu-ray.

So my point is very valid.

Don't think I've seen that one. Is it an '18'?

Picture Quality is not relative to the quality of the film on display

thats better, i would also include the 9.99 ones in the post, maybe

bluray FROM 7.99 and list them all.

heat from me and a little rep for the efforts.
#14
Voted hot, not voted either way on other threads. As for the arguement about them not looking better on blu ray than dvd is just silly

Are you purposefully being dense.

If you think Iron Man looks just as good quality as Swordfish (picture quality wise) then you need your eyes checking and forget blu-ray because you're never going to get see a benefit.
#16
I give up, your absolutley right DVD looks a lot better than Blu Ray.

Now I know your dense because I didn't say that. All I said is these particular films wont really benefit from being in blu-ray. So save £2.99 and get the DVD instead.

Show me IRON MAN at £7.99 and I'll go HOTTT!!

EDIT - Actually Spiderman 3 has high production values, so I'll give you that one. Terrible film though, unfortunately :(
#18
Can we all agree to differ lol
#19
At least you'll save money by that line of thinking.
#20
i think we need a group hug
#21
right everyone who doesnt like Blue-ray send me your unwanted discs and i will see if i can give them a good home :-D

so higher definition wont make any difference to the picture you watch? why does a Blockbuster film have to be the only ones who get the blu treatment? like i said in the swordfish thread surely the ball bearing scene would be better on blu than dvd?
#24
Blu-Ray discs are better quality than DVD full stop. So you should not be voting cold (IMHO) just because you are satisfied with DVD.

To me it's a bit like voting a Ferrari cold because you can get down to the shops in a Fiesta. Both do the same job but one is much better to look at even if a little more expensive.

And actually Swordfish is one of my all time greats - if I could get to a store I would probably buy it. Only just got a blu-ray player and would quite happily buy for an extra couple of quid.

If you don't like the product - don't vote
If you can find cheaper for SAME product - vote cold
If you can't find it cheaper how can you vote anything else but hot?

Just my opinion - ENJOY

Hey I'm not dissing blu-ray. I'm dissing these particular films on blu-ray. Like someone else said, polishing a turd. Why pay another £2.99.

Iron mans not exactly an amazing film, how many of the films listed have you seen? because its starting to sound like your voting or commenting based on the fact they're not a typical summer blockbuster film ie Iron Man, spiderman, etc.
#28
Brrrrr it's cold in here.

I'd just like to add that I watched a John Wayne film the other night filmed in the 1970s which had subsequently been re-released on HD-DVD and Blu-ray, excellent picture quality and sound :).

I'm all for HiDef in whatever form it takes.

Was it a summer blockbuster?

All you cold voters are assholes, the deal is for a bunch of blu-ray movies at toysRus for £7.99, not whether or not it's worth buying them on blu-ray v's dvd. The OP gets cold votes for listing them separate, so he puts them in 1 deal and still gets ripped apart. I've haven't seen these movies cheaper on blu-ray so voted hot. That's what hotdeals is supposed to be about? :p

Maybe in the Summer of 1972.

6 of them. And I was using Iron Man as an example because it has very high production values, you can't deny it oozes picture quality.
#33
Good price. heat added.

If i liked any of those movies enough to spend a fiver on the DVD version I'd definitely spend the extra £2.99 to get what is supposedly the best version available - otherwise i'd just wonder what (if anything) i was missing out on.

Still its good to know that hotukdeals is a review site now, at least i wont have to bother with metacritic.

Most of these also have a HD audio track so the vastly better sound quality through a HD codec capable receiver makes them worth the premium.

hot from me.

Dont talk rubbish !!
A movie you saw ten years ago at the cinema would be filmed in as high a definition as anything currently at the cinema
its all down to the transfer and spider man etc are just the kind of movies that look superb in high def

I voted cold because I don't like the blue boxes :whistling:

Spiderman 3 is one of the best Blu-Rays both in sound and picture quality, as is layer cake and they are both very good films. Probably some other good ones on that list to but I have not seen any of them on Blu-Ray.
