If only the second film on those discs was any good....

You could switch your link to the Alien/Predator Boxset

Again both these titles back in at £9.98 in the 3 for 2 Blu-ray offer
(£5.99 each as part of 3 for 2) but this boxset works out cheaper £4.99 per film

Looks like the ones on the Hut/Zavvi website are back up to full price. Amazon are still doing them cheap tho.

28 Days Later will be a huge letdown on Blu Ray - just to warn you all in advance. It looks like an upscaled DVD at the very best - really disappointing. Order at your peril!

That's because it wasn't filmed in HD (only the end part...which does look good on Blu Ray )

Indeed. It's just that most people won't be expecting such poor quality from a Blu Ray film, and those that have the DVD are likely better off sticking with that, unless they are desperate for the extras :)

Yeah, I got the feeling the quality from the BR wasn't great, but thanks for confirming that.

No worries. Useful to know, as most will by default, expect Blu Ray to be amazing (and why not?). But that was how it was intended to be filmed. It might be part of why they have been reduced so quickly.

My friend sent me the 720p mkv of this and when I received it, I thought he was joking and had sent a transcoded Xvid file ... !

Recently watched Robocop on Blu, my god it was appalling. Worst. Transfer. Ever.

Sent it back to Amazon in disgust.

I have a rip from the US version, and apart from that two-legged robot machine thing looking extremely badly super-imposed, the film looks like a decent enough copy over ... though I'm yet to fire up on the proper HDTV - I was looking on my monitor ... !
