Synopsis:

Double bill of action adventures set in ancient times. In '10,000 BC' (2008), in a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter D'Leh (Steven Strait) has met the woman of his dreams, the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle). But when a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D'Leh must lead a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. As they venture into unknown lands for the first time, the group discovers there are civilisations beyond their own and that mankind's reach is far greater than they ever knew. 'Troy' (2004), set in 1193 BC, is based on Homer's sprawling epic poem 'The Iliad'. It tells the story of Paris, Prince of Troy (Orlando Bloom), who falls in love with the wife of King Menelaus of Sparta (Brendan Gleeson), the beautiful Helen (Diane Kruger). He persuades her to leave her husband and go back with him to Troy, sparking a war between the Mycenaeans, led by Menelaus's brother, Agamemnon (Brian Cox), and the armies of Troy, led by Prince Hector (Eric Bana). The City of Troy, governed by King Priam (Peter O'Toole) has never before succumbed to seige or battle but Agamemnon and the Mycenae Greeks have a formidable ally: the great and seemingly indomitable Achilles (Brad Pitt). Political intrigue, passionate love trysts and one-on-one fight sequences take place against a background of sweeping battle scenes as the armies of ancient Greece and the city of Troy engage in their epic and bloody war.

Imho goes along way as films are subjective.

Heat for troy, 10000bc you best hang from the ceiling and watch the sunlight glitter far more entertaining
#7
The director's cut of Troy is far superior to the theatrical version. If you have only seen the latter then you should try and see the director's cut. More gore, more fighting, more background and, perhaps most importantly: more Odysseus.

I agree that the directors cut of troy is much more enjoyable. I got it in the legendary warriors box set which u can get with 3 other films in for 7-9 quid
