I've bought loads from this company in the past and they have some really good bargains and their customer service is exceptional!!!! This is a fantastic price for the USB docking station alone however with this deal you also get the rechargeable battery packs with it!!!

bought this b4 christmas cost me £14, so at this price it's a great bargain. delivered in less than a week and with rechargeable batteries as well it's a steal.

I bought one of these exact models off ebay before xmas and it died within 2 weeks of moderate use.

Must have been the unlucky one - they cant all die after moderate use otherwise peoplw wouldnt sell them!!

Well for that price it's worth taking the chance

i brought this a few weeks ago, the lights make it look great in a dark room, got the blue light wii stand/fan at same time http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3524 and they go great together!

Great find

I got one of these in January, the right hand charger has died on me.

Reminds me that I need to get a price to send it back to China.

For anyone that has this exact one ..........

does it charge in standby mode ??
is it intelligent ie. does it stop charging when they are full ??
does the blue LED stay on all the time ??

thanks - know it's a bit picky for £8 quid but if I'm gonna get one I may as well get the right one...

I have one of these and both chargers died within a few weeks of use. I think they are very cheaply made.

For that price mate you may as well just order a new one.

Just for info- I bought one of these before xmas, the right hard charger doesnt work and the left one you have to wiggle the remote to get it to charge, the battery packs dont last very long as well!

hth :)

So did my suspiciously similar one from Amazon. That, coupled with the reports of it killing Wiimotes (see Amazon 'chargestation' reviews), plus the fiddle factor of trying to get the thing on the base properly to charge (with remote jacket on or off!) has made me go back to batteries.

Sorry OP, not a criticism of the bargain (which it is), just a word of caution.

I bought 2 of these before Christmas. Delivery was v long (5 or 6 weeks I think?) but I put it down to Christmas rush, I've ordered from DX since then and had the order in a week.

As for the item, it's great! Had no problems. The LED's glow red while charging and turn blue once fully charged. The blue light stays on until you take them out of the dock.
Yes, they do charge while the Wii is on stand-by.

The only down-side (and I'm being REALLY picky here) is that you have to remove (or peel back) the wii remote skin to get it in the charger. The strap will fold underneath so it's not an issue. It just means you can't simply drop it in and leave it. However I've foudn the charge lasts a while and I only have to charge them up every 4-7 times of use.

Hope that helps!

Looks good thanks!

Got two of these delivered in January.

Paid around £7 each.

Best thing I've bought for my Wii.

The Blue light is great.

The only bad point is that the battery goes down even when you're not using it (obviously it will go down, but it goes down almost as fast as if you were using it)...but the charge does last a good while so it's not even that much of an issue.

I have them plugged in permanently to my USB port and they're great.

Firstly Deal Extreme come with a caveat emptor, if your product goes missing or is damaged then you may end up being shafted by them as myself and others have found out (although if all goes well then they're great).
The problem with USB chargers is:
a) The wii needs to be on for it to charge which is pointless as you're using the remote when the wii is on, or you leave the wii on and waste energy.
b) The batteries aren't very good, I use rechargeables on my wii (I ditched the usb charger, it was rubbish) and I get about 20 hours gameplay from them, when I used my usb charger I'd get 4-5 hours from it and then have to recharge.

I bought one of these to go with my daughters wii for christmas. She has used it continuously for the last three month and has had no problems at all.

Would recommend. Cant go wrong for the price.

Voted hot.

I've had the same model charger for about 6 months and not had any problems with the chargers breaking. I had a bit of trouble getting them to charge with the strap still on so I've ended up taking them off to save hassle. They charge when the wii is on standby, but if you want to turn the wii fully off you can charge them off anything with usb (ie your PC etc).

Charge doesnt last for that long but if you put the controllers back in the dock after each gamin sesh you will be fine.

The LEDs in mine are very bright! I've ended up having to unplug the charger whenever I'm watching a movie or TV in a darkened room.

As stated before, cheap, but customer service is terrible.
I bought an item for Christmas, that did not work.
They have promised 3 times to send a replacement. Nothing ever sent.
Now they have a new system to place service requests, and now asking me to register the fault all over again.

I would suggest only buy if you are happy to take the risk it does not work, or fails early as so cheap and happy to write off the loss.

As the adage states "you get what you pay for"!

Not surprised as these are unbranded rechargable batteries at this cheap price. Better invest in eneloop rechargable battery instead.
#22
I bought one, just before Xmas. Be warned that the battery isn't very good and it takes for ever to charge.

yes it charges in standby.

when they are full up the light changes from blue to red to indicate so

You can turn the main blue led completly of if you wish too.. altho i think it looks great, the two smaller charging lights stay on tho.

Ive never had a problem at all with mine, we have 2 in the house and they both work great and look great.

as a side note you cant charge this with the wii jacket on but works fine if you roll it up since the connectors are on the back of the wiimote :)
#24
Tired of swapping batteries so bought one. at £7 its worth a go.
#25
have had this exact model for a couple of months now

excellent value

wiimotes never get warm so no chance that i can see of it "Cooking" the wiimotes

only snag i can see is that the lights in the base are very bright and i cant see a way of turning them off other than using a bottle of tipex or similar

highly recommended

theres a on off switch on the back to turn off the main blue light along the bottom, the other two arent so noticable :)

Just as a contrast to the people that are speaking up on Deal Extreme's poor customer service.

I ordered a PSP Component Cable for $13 from them. It came, it didn't work.

I emailed them, within 24 hours I was offered a replacement or a refund. I opted for a replacement and it was with me within a fortnight.

You can't say fairer than that.

ALSO:
I bought a cheap powered USB hub which I keep beside my TV. I have my Wii chargers, battery chargers, my DS Lite and my PSP plugged in charging away. Just an idea for someone maybe. Maybe use some of those novelty USB devices away from the computer?

Bought one of these a while ago, arrived with one charger working, one not functioning, within a week both chargers were no longer functioning.

I think you'll see from the responses in this thread that the quality of this item is a bit hit or miss, buy at your own risk!

for a couple of pound more

http://www.zavvi.co.uk/Vertical-Stand-Charge-Dock/773387/p.jsf

I have had one of these for about 6 months with no problems. It has a stand for the WII and for 2 controllers. A red light flashes when it is charging and stops (but stays red) when fully charged. It also has a neon light going round the base of the wii and the chargers which is really nice when the room is slightly dark. You take the normal back off your wii controller and replace it with one of these, you need to use 2 AAA rechargeable batteries in each controller. Dont really know how long it take to charge but its never been an issue so think it might recharge quite quick....not sure.

Probably a better bet as a bit easier to return if it goes wrong!!

Don't know you know, doesn't include the batteries so that's more cost to add on.

If it costs more than 30% of the purchase price to post it, then you keep it, and they send you another. :)
