How is this cold?

Best price I've seen for the top netbook in this price range, 8 hour battery life, 10.2" screen and XP as standard

Play are stating the blue version is due for release 14/12/08. Thought this would be a good option for those worried about the estimated delivery date being too close to Christmas?
#6
Well I voted hot, best price so far!

Yeah! I dont understand, why they are releasing the blue version at a later date, its out already in many retailers, I was really into this netbook, then I found out it doesnt have a cd drive :(

It's a netbook. That's the point.

Good price.
#10
Good price..

Though got mine for £262 from TheHut.com last week!
#11
who uses cd drives? unless you're an old tech pirate, there's no need for an internal cd drive... they just add to the weight and bulk!

Yep..

If you've anything worthwhile on CD, make an ISO of it on another machine and use something like Alcohol 120 or DaemonTools to mount it - and you're set!

Price now £295.04 = £290.04 after voucher + £4.95 Del. Is there another code for free delivery?

Still available???? Care to enlighten us as to how you got that?

Fraid it's not available anymore.

Used the 10% off code available for use last week between 12pm - 2pm on one of the days (LUNCH10) on TheHut.com - it was supposed to exclude electronics / computing but gave it a shot with the NC10 and it worked.

Didn't think it'd be honoured.. but credit card was charged.
#17
I still think these will be cheaper in the run up to Christmas with vouchers that will inevitably be floating around

You can buy this for £299 + free delivery (FRDEL249) + 2.5% discount (vat rate cut) at Currys but it's not much.
#18
ya... wait til Monday for the VAT reduction
#19
Dixons have lowered their prices for the VAT reduction - the price is £293.60 delivered. SAVE5 voucher would bring this down to £278.92 but it's not working! I think the way they're reducing the VAT is voucher based and is preventing the other voucher from being applied. Hopefully this will be sorted on Monday.

If the Play.com quidco is no longer 4% (some people are stating they're only getting 2%) then it works out pretty much the same...
#20
Forgot to mention - also another 2.5% off if you have an Egg Card - that's it down to £264.98. Pity the voucher won't apply!
#21
I noticed PCW & Currys increased prices by ~£30 give or take (all three models), Dixons might be next in line .
#22
If they do I'll just get one from Play....it's worth waiting until Monday!

Your right - the automatic reduction in VAT does not come up. I entered SAVE10 and it knocked off the £10 but not the 2.5% reduction. The best I could get is -

£299.99 less £10 plus £4.84 delivery = £294.83

Maybe see what happens on Monday??
#24
I thought I'd wait until Monday and buy from Play.com - but they have just this morning put it up from £299 to £329 :x
I'm worried Dixons will do the same too before Monday, since PC World and Currys are alreayd at 329 :x
#25
Yeah - me too - if I order via Dixons it'll be £287.46 delivered if I order on my egg card. I was hoping to get it for around £269 on Monday. I think I'll just for for the Dixons deal before it goes up!

Damn damn damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :x:x:x
#27
I've just ordered from Dixon's - cost me £15 more than play would have and it's on my Dec credit card bill! Pants! Still it could be worse - could be up to £320ish after discounts!
#28
Dixons seem to have increased price to £309.99, but if you add to basket it's still £299.99, play.com and everyone else online is charging £329.99!
#29
thankfully i bought it yesterday for £294.83 all in after SAVE10
prices are going up everywhere
possible reasons:
poor turnover and profits at DSG group and elsewhere,
very weak pound (esp to euro and dollar) means more expensive imports,
raise price incl vat... "drop" VAT rate... return to same price... quick profit
#30
They've just put the price up to 309 :(
Unfortunately had it in my basket, but price on that has changed too.
I'll wait until Monday and hopefully SAVE10 will still work and they will have updated their systems to have VAT at 15%...

No need to wait. They are already discounting items during checkout...

Auto discount allowance for new VAT rate £6.60

£304.94 delivered

:)
#32
Thankfully I got mine too before it went up. I'm still peeved I didn't get it for £272 at play - that'll teach me to wait for a VAT cut! At least I've got an Egg card so it was £287ish and worked out at £15 down on the play deal...
#33
i think what he means is on monday u can use save10 on top of vat cut.
currently it's one or t'other

How silly of me. I didn't even check if both discounts were allowed together, just saw they were discounting VAT due to another Item I had purchased.

So total on Monday if both discounts apply should be:

£309.99
-£6.60 VAT reduction
-£10 Save10
+Delivery £4.95

=£298.34

That's assuming Dixons don't up the price like other retailers..
#35
well predicted! that is exactly the current status.
#36
Just passed through Manchester airport and these are £280 at Dixons Tax Free. First time I'd seen one in the flesh and they are very light and the screen looked great. Sorely tempted but I'm struggling to justify the expense!

They have, £318.01 list price.
#38
Ive only been looking at these for about a week, so was unaware of the initial price rises, but was looking at them on Dixons on Sunday at £309, was pretty annoyed that it had gone up to the random price of £318.01 yesterday when I went to order :x

Still seems the chepeast around, shame theres no free delivery codes kicking about, and shame you cant use multiple discount codes.

Have VAT3, SAVE10 and just found HAPPY5, which is meant to give 5% off but actually took 32p off my order :?

Anyone know anywhere cheaper to get a white NC10, before paying £315 from Dixons?
#39
it's free delivery now.

just use SAVE10 (others will override it) brings it to £308

only other place right now is dixons tax free at the airports or eurotunnel- £280
#40
blue one only down to 309.99, less 10 with SAVE10
NOW 299.99 delivered
