I have a tecknet one - good quality - works fine on my i5
Is it actually as described though? Just been bumped for a supposed 'Anker' one which is just one of the cheap copies you'd find in Poundland rather than an MFI cable. Unfortunately not sure how much trust you can put in third party sellers on Amazon.
Glad someone got it.

Well that made me chuckle with the Made For Idiots reference.

What cxxr says is supported by the response I received from the Amazon seller:-
Dear Customer,

The item you received is the correct item. Please ignore the mark on each USB ports. All six ports have the smart IC which will change the current automatively from 0-2.4A. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

With regards
BlueByte
The fact that the accompanying instruction booklet suggests that you plug in tablets into the first 4 ports and phones into the last doesn't fill me with confidence, but thanks to cxxr I'm happy.

EDIT: Just for information, I also got the similar Anker product. It came in nicer packaging and if I had to recommend one over the other I;'d go for Anker rather than Tecknet, but the units are very similar and I don't think there's much in it.
I wouldn't be surprised if they both come from the same Chinese manufacturer. Or at least used the same components.
Anker are probably stamping their monicker on a new 50W 6 port version of their very own, as I type. :)
I can confirm that the Device shipped does output at least 2amps from all 6 USB sockets even though it says 2x 1amp 2x 2.1 and 2x 2.4
I've tested this with a Portapow USB monitor which allows you to monitor voltage and amps while a device is in-line, in my case it's an iPad 2
Hope that helps, just need the lightning cable to turn up now
Ok - just received a reply from Bluebyte which has set my mind at rest:

Dear Customer,

The item you received is the correct item. Please ignore the mark on each USB ports. All six ports have the smart IC which will change the current automatively from 0-2.4A. Please see the attached photo that the item was charing an iPad 2 from the 1A port.
We are sorry that the cable has recently been out of stock due to large volume of demand. The new stock is expected to arrive at our warehouse on around 6th Oct, when we'll be able to fulfill your order immediately. We apologise for any inconvenience it may cause. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

With regards
BlueByte
I ordered on 24th August and received an email from them to say that delivery would be delayed due to them not having the cable in stock - they gave me the option to cancel which I didn't.
This morning, almost a month later, I received a package from them. No cable and the charger ports have labels on them of 2.4, 2.1 and 1.0 amps - doesn't sound very 'smart' to me.
I have emailed BlueByte to confirm that this is indeed a smart charger and the ports labelled 1.0 amps will charge at 2.4 amps if whatever is plugged into those ports requires it. And of course to find out where my cable is!
got mine today but no cable? unless it may be dispatched separately but email stated they sent together, strange..

bought one last week and returned it. doesn't work as advertised. much slower at charging on any port than 2.1a. would have taken 8+ hours to charge n7 and 4+ to charge n5 compared to genuine chargers 2.5 and 1ish hours respectively.

How big and heavy is this? 15000 mha is nearly twice the capacity of the battery you find in an iPad so it needs to be fairly chunky.

According to the Tecknet website this is listed at 13,000 mha with RRP of £47.99 but no size or weight given. The 15000mha looks quite different on the Tecknet website.

Had one of these cheap covers previously for my ipad 3, then bought a moshi versacover. In my experence the cheap cases honestly ruin the the experience of the Ipad and genuinely do add bulk, another problem is that the so called 'microfiber lining' leaves smudges on the Ipad which isn't nice. once i started using the Moshi cover it was so much better I personally think its well worth investing in a 'premium cover' for between £40-£50 but think the apple one is too expensive at £65 even though it is leather.

each to their own but if I can afford a great quality top of the range tablet product, I think it may be worth spending a little more than 1% of its value keeping it in the best condition. Even if it is a good product.

Most people would not want to add a further £65 onto the price of their iPad Air to get the premium Apple equivalent (as nice as it is).

Personally, I've had an Amazon cheap cover on my previous iPad which has been excellent for the last 2 years and is still going strong.

Just noticed, the price of this deal has gone down to £1.97, seems the seller saw the comments on this website, interesting!
for this style, it is the cheapest one
1. InventCase, PU Leather, £11.99
2. MOFRED, PU Leather, £1.99, same price
3. JAMMYLIZARD, PU Leather, £10.90
4. Caseflex, PU Leather, £3.99
High quality 'synthetic' leather ............

OK, we know you won't get leather for this price so why include it in the title?
Yes, I found the deal of 1.57...however, I don`t think that one is valuable ...no wallet pouch, cannot adjust the angles and the shape is not very fashion. Additionally, this one looks more thin and easy for carrying ...
You won't do well with this one..... was a different deal earlier for £1.57.

[qoute]For something completely different: I noticed that the Tecknet Hub packaging says :"Certified Frustration Free Packaging" I ask myself is Britain turning many people into a culture of easily frustrated people with minor inconvenience, like everything handed to them on a plate, ready to use, ready to eat![/quote]
Have you tried opening some packages from cheap products? People will give one star reviews on products that are a pain to open, it's quite an important part of sales.

Price has gone up to 11.99 ordered one anyway, thanks!

Edited By: Trace6x on Nov 01, 2013 15:44
Mine has come up with two additional device drivers ( In between this Technet Hub and laptop is a USB 3 Expresscard which also uses Renesas chip/drivers) :-
Renesas Electronics USB 2.0 Hub
Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Hub
Whence before I had two USB 3.0 ports with the 2 port Expresscard card , now I have 5 USB 3.0 ports with this 4 port Hub.
Upon testing this hub with a USB 3.0 external disk, the transfer rate is USB 3 speed which is at 100 Mbyes/s read and 77MB/s write of 50MB files averaged over 5 readings. So it does not work at USB 2.0 speed (would have come up with about 50% of aforementioned).
For something completely different: I noticed that the Tecknet Hub packaging says :"Certified Frustration Free Packaging" I ask myself is Britain turning many people into a culture of easily frustrated people with minor inconvenience, like everything handed to them on a plate, ready to use, ready to eat!
By the way, it is a good design as I now also have an extra fast charging transformer for my tablets. smartphones at home (which means that I can keep another charger always in my bag ready to go). I tested the hub and it does charge without having the hub's data cable (plugged into PC at the other end) which is expected.
