Nice and smart, bought one, using it now

I bought this a while ago as a spare to keep in the car. It serves that purpose reasonably well.

Will this work in the USA? Thanks for any advice people can give.
#7
In Tesco Dudley (Burnt Tree Island) too. Quite a few by the sandwiches :-)

I bought one earlier in Old Swan Liverpool just as you walk in, not bad but dont expect bluetooth or owt.
Good little phone for work.

Works well my phone went dead when i was away for 5 days so bought one of these still running on the battery not charged it up yet bought on Saturday. The charger i got with mine is a mains charger.

I bought 2, never know when they might be useful. Infact im gonna give my dad one as its more simple than the cheap nokia I recently got him, plus he always forgets to take the nokia out with him, atleast with this he can put it on his car keys or car mirror, wallet etc.

By the way, the fact that it charges from a standard mini usb lead is great and you get a mains charger with a mini usb end on it so very useful for charging other devices too such as sat navs

I have one. Worst phone I have ever had, but obviously I knew that would be the case. I bought it as I wanted a cheap phone I could take with me on marathon training runs and with me during the London Marathon and it served it's purpose. Doesn't matter if it gets broken.

Do you mean a standard usb lead, if so have you try it. The reason i ask is that any info i saw on them say it won't work with a standard usb lead ?
#13
It does charge from a standard USB lead. Charged mine that way the other day from my car head unit as I needed it for Orange Wednesdays, although the headunit kept trying to read from it - stupid thing.

I think it depends on your uses. I bought one of these a while ago because there are times when I don't want to take my expensive smartphone out with me, but I do still want to have a phone on me. This is an extremely basic phone (calls, texts and a calculator are about its limits), but it's very cheap, small, nice and light, works with nearly all networks and charges via a regular mini-USB cable.

I certainly wouldn't buy this as a main phone. You can get something a lot better for under 20 quid, but if you want a credit-card sized phone to slip in your pocket when you go out running, or go out on the town drinking with mates or whatever, this is great.

And whether or not you want an Onkyo. :)

Bought this about 3 months ago, I use it as my main phone and have done since, although i would not recommend it for regular use, very low memory, not very nice to text with, although light, small and cheap. For a few pound for you could a get a mid range phone.

Haha! I totally missed the reference until I read your reply.

Biggest problem with it is that you can't edit or delete a number once it's in the phonebook.

Other than that, it's a great little phone for taking to festivals, etc or keeping in the glovebox.
#21
pretty crap, falls apart in a month, multi page texts appear as separate texts and sometimes come through in random order. memory fills up in a few messages so you are forever deleting texts. ok if you want a very very simple phone. lame if you are any more advanced than sending the odd text.i'd get one of the £1 phones with the £10 topup requirement.
all in all its a good idea that hasn't quite worked out. Soz

looks great, hope my local has one!
#23
Yeah, these have been in our local Tesco for months.

Don't really know why someone would get one when you can get a Nokia for 2 quid more with £10 credit and a 2 year warranty, especially as this one looks like a calculator!
#24
DON'T BUY THIS! I OWN ONE OF THESE AND THE RECEPTION AS WELL AS SOUND QUALITY IS WORSE THAN CRAP! A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!
#25
nokia 1661 unlocked £14.95 inc £10 airtime cpw instore or online £5 quidco or topcashback a propr phone imo.
