Ok after the Mac offer i have pretty much wasted the evening looking for offers through random codes being typed in.

To the point i dont know if the magazine is any good at all (and dont really care) as the main thing for me was the bluetooth mouse which looks pretty amazing. The offer has been posted before but a one year subscription version but from what i can work out you can cancel the subscription after what seem to be 3 free issues and get the free mouse!

(correct me if im wrong about that)

ohh also if you want an offer on any other magazine by Dennis Publishing i probably have it as i have an excel document of offers :p

It looks good as I think it slides into the PC card slot for storage. Thats why it looks kinda flat.
#6
i think thats it i think its not for look more for practicality when you want a real mouse with a laptop

Was going to go for this just to get the mouse, but when I get to the confirmation page it's just spitting out variable names instead of actual values which doesn't look too promising... see screenshot and notice the $Prices$ which I assume should show how much would be charged.

Anyone successfully gone for this?
#9
I have taken it up and havent been charged yet and i think i shouldnt be charged until 2/3 months times when they bill me for my 4th issue,

Though i dont know for sure but will post if i do get charged, Though it does say that when you cancel after 3 issues you wont be charged anything so i guess even if they do charge you the will refund you :)

It looks cool, and I want a bluetooth mouse, but my MacBook has no PCMCIA slots :-(

oh .. i didnt realise it doesnt work with the MacBook .... drats.

i think it does work with mac the pcima is only to store it not for anything else, well that how it seemed to me, as the write up shows it connecting to a usb bluetooth so there would be no need for a pcimai if it uses usb bluetooth

EDIT- Was wrong it needs PCIMA to charge

I think this mag is weekly rather than monthly so just be aware of when you really do need to cancel!

Nice, and the magazine is cool. Used to buy this every month from my newsagent. Excellent magazine.

Will this bluetooth mouse work on a PS3 console?
#16
cool, cheers for posting this top find. One less thing to put in my laptop bag.

Will this bluetooth mouse work on a PS3 console?

It *might*, but the mouse needs charged via a PCMIA slot, which you'll only find on laptops. I would always recommend a wired mouse for consoles.
#18
phillai, Not sure if this mouse will work with the PS3 but i have a logitech bluetooth mouse and keyboard and they work with the PS3 when i plug the bluetooth dongle in.

So i guess there is a good chance that it will work.

this is a weekly magazine as i get it for husband from tesco for £1.99 so buying it delivered for £1.56 after the 3 free and free mouse is a bit of a saving for me
thanks

Great idea - it doesn't mention that it is Vista compatible but I expect it's ok?

Doesnt mention it on offer details, but i think it is. On their website it says "we support vista": http://www.newtonperipherals.com/

Best computing mag out there, caters to all levels of experience and has a damn good forum as well.
#23
The mouse is Vista compatible.

I have one I use with my laptop and it is just incredible (and I paid £50 for it).
The convenience of having a fully charged wireless mouse 'tucked away' in your laptop is wonderful. It is not only bluetooth, but also optical and therefore very sensitive. It glides along any surface very easily and feels very intuitive when used.

I cannot praise this peripheral enough... and whenever anyone see is, the first word is always, 'Cool!'.

This is a great offer. I suspect they are getting rid of stocks as a new version is being released which incorporates a touch-scroll.
#24
ordered mine must be worth it just for the mouse - you could just ring up once you have it and cancel.
#25
How do you cancel once you received the mouse?
Only seems worth it to me really if you can cancel online (instead of messing around with direct debits and customer service numbers)
#26
just call them up they wont take the money until the 4th issue as far as i can see so if you cancel after the 2nd and remove the DD you should be fine.
#27
brilliant stuff, thanks for sharing!!! Just ordered

no probs use the rep button if you feel like it though :)

Even if it doesnt track, it's still hot! Ohh and dont expect the quidco - seriously doubt you'll get it. If it tracks, it's a bonus. But rep should be given regardless :)
