Bluetooth was a pirate. I think.
I thought he was a Scandinavian king who was into people talking rather than fighting?

Have I got mixed up here? Oh dear :(

Yes he was. King Harald, if I remember correctly. His teeth were stained blue on account of all the blueberries he ate.

You compare the base against other non-named Bluetooth sound bars and then vote...

Heat added purely on price. OP, you might want to add that it is available from Sunday 15th December - I'm not a big fan of editing other people posts!

Heat added based on price......surely they have to be better than my awful TV speakers...

Willing to pay up to £100 for a fairly good bluetooth one - surely this can't be any good at this price!

Aldi constantly surprise me with the quality of their hardware. This could be a winner though none of us will know until Sunday.

Buy the same one from someone on ebay for £100 then. Priced at £100 it will obviously sound much better.

Bear in mind that double the watts makes a barely audible increase in volume - do don't get too hung up on that figure.

If you want to convert your existing system to Bluetooth you can do so by spending £3.17 on a receiver from eBay (China) and use an old phone charger to power it.

Even better if you can link it with the £5 off a £40 spend this thursday in the daily mirror, just spend a penny more. Good present for the dad!

The point of soundbars is that although they may not be great sounding, they're still an improvement over the sound from most modern TVs. I heard a Technika one in Tesco for £50 and it was as good, if not better than most popular branded ones up to a certain specification and price, so assuming this has the connections and does what you need it to, it's a bargain.

Taking off the higher margins the £100 retailer will take,, will it be any different

£50 is a good price if it is half decent.

I don't think a link is allowed for this because when I posted it as a deal it was "spammed" as it's a Chinese seller. But I've bought two and they work fine. You won't get them in time for Christmas though. Search for "Bluetooth audio receiver" and it's the cheapest non-auction listing.

If it is a rebrand of the Goodmans above then personally I think you are better off with the cheaper Azatom UFO.... for starters is very powerful considering it's size and also contains rechargeable batteries so you can take it with you.... the battery last for hours before a recharge is needed.

Excuse my ignorance; but can this be connected to a TV? Or is it simply to play music via Bluetooth?

Not this one, had a look at one this evening in Aldi (not on sale until Sunday 10am, but they let me have a look at one.!) will be buying one tomorrow and have been told I can take it back if it's not as good as they reckon it is!

had a look at it this morning, its 2.0 (15w+15w) with no subwoofer and the design looks very similar to the goodmans one so I think its the same manufacturer, just sitting between the 20w and 50w ones in their range

Got one of these today and sound is pretty good quality, I think it is the rebadged Goodmans. good value

Please could you tell me if it automatically switches itself off after a few minutes, if the volume is too low?

i had a quick look of the box earlier when i aldi
pretty sure it said 32"
and has an optical in so if you tv has optical out (digital)
it will play any sound through the sound bar the tv will play
or you can link it directly to your blu ray player or ps3 etc.... if your tv doesn't have it
didn't look for phono in (analogue) but probably has
i have a 40" led in my bedroom with slim boarders which measure about 37" from side to side
so the sound bar would be 5 " shorter than the tv
so wouldn't look too much out of place
