Tested two of these poundworld bluetooth dongles - both worked fine. Uses Microsoft bluetooth stack so no need for driver disc.

Been posted a couple of times before but they still seem to have them in stock. I'm using mine with Windows 7 x64 and it works out of the box with no driver required, and it supports the A2DP profile meaning it can connect to my bluetooth headphones. Only downside is all of these poundworld 'Livewire' dongles have the same MAC address so you couldn't really use more than 1 in the same environment otherwise the computer would go crazy...

Must have missed this being posted so I'm glad it's done again. It may well be worth a trip out tomorow.

Ta!

You might Wanna pick up some superglue whilst you there.. I've had 3 of these and the casing has separated on all 3 of them..

Apart from that they all work OK and at this price even if you need to glue them back together you cant complain. :)

Oh and yeah I noticed they were all cloned devices as well.. I think one of mine had a different address so there may be a few about.. but 2 were definitely the same.

These are really great bits of kit IME and very solid in Windows 7 and Vista. Never EVER fail. W7 may install a driver and then update to another after restart. Those tiny ones are great because they are VERY discrete so perfect for older (or brand new if you want 2 devices) laptops/netbooks or if you don't want it crowding your machine.

The ones I've bought all flash too (just a tiny light).

great deal OP. H&R added.
that dongle is all the way from China!! couldn't be bothered with that as probably takes a week to get to you.
for the sake of 59p this one (item 140463583286) gets delivered fast & works in Win 7 perfectly.
great to use with Nokia PC suite as easy way to send texts/send files to phone etc... - its what I do.

There's one (theoretical) upside to the same MAC address if you use Medieval IT's Bluetooth OBEX File Transfer for Windows - the license key is tied to the MAC address, so if both dongles have the same MAC, you could have one dongle at home and one at work and still be able to use the software on both computers without seeing the nag screen on one of them. But that would be naughty and it's cheapware anyway, so I'm not advocating folks do that.

I use the aforementioned software because it gets around the limitation of only being able to transfer one file/photo at a time through the native Windows XP bluetooth functionality. Works a bit like an FTP client. Great software and only cost a little over a £1.

You could try visiting http://bluetoothinstaller.com/ . It worked for me under Win XP, but don't know about Win 7 users..
