I think the felt f95 at Merlin cycles is a better deal at this price point.
#2
has the felt got a life time warranty on the frame ?? Boardman frames do.
#3
Felt have a lifetime warranty on frames and rigid forks.
#4
I agree good bike but low spec,go for the felt :-)
#5
Felt is the better bike but the boardman is good

The lower end boardman frames (anything Halfords sell) have a 2 year warranty. The higher end frames increase to a whopping 3 years. Other companies like Giant, Cannondale and Specialized offer lifetime warranty on their frames.

You really need to judge them all by weight and specification. No one here has done that for you.

The felt is a much better buy.

Very poor spec even for a £370 roadbike, the Felt is better, or even the Vitus Razor from Chain Reaction at £375. Those thumbshifters will soon get on your nerves once you start getting into some serious riding- I know, I have a Triban 3 I bought last year, which is a fine bike apart from the thumbshifters! Will try to replace them with some Claris shifters once I can find a decent deal on them.

Felt all the way. Though the Vitus comes before this, I still wouldn't.

I'd agree, also didn't realise the Felt was only £6.50 carriage, though it isn't built and says gears may need adjusting, which could be difficult for noobs.

True, but even paying the £25/30 to have it built by merlin, you're still getting a much better specced bike.

Halfords give the samr service unbuilt, I had a cycle to work bike my back wheel fell off. If you don't know how to build a bike take it to a proper bike shop and get better service at half the price

I feel your pain, I'm at the point where I've got car insurance to pay out on two cars next month, and I'm considering getting a Felt Bike and a Canon DSLR, determined to make my self broke before next payday :\

They are but the Felt is still better than this bike at this price range.

decathlon has carbon forked bikes under this price, with lifetime frame guarantee and better service than halfords.

An extra 10% off through British cycling too. It will cost £20 to sign up for the bronze package though.

Costco selling the cervalo carbon thing for just under 1k. Lifetime money back guarantee on the whole thing. Costco points on the purchase if your executive member.
#24
I'm considering a vitus bike at the minute but know little about them. are they good? felt bikes better?

So this is where all the self proclaimed bike experts and snobs hang out?

Such a shame Boardman bikes are only available from Halfords, a bit like buying...well something really good from a crap retailer!
Very nearly bought a Boardman about 2 years ago, but decided against it due to Halfords dreadful presale attitude. Guess it depends on the store, but my local lot were hopeless - not interested in bikes at all, just cars and car fluff. Would recommend only getting at a bargain price and taking to a "bike shop" and getting it setup and serviced there.

this is a good deal. three friends bought them. they actually come with shimano claris gears and not the old 2300 thumb shifters. the Felt is better though for the same money as it has a better group set (all the gears basically) and is only 9 kilos and has a carbon fork. (good for soaking up bumps). this is the next best value though, and can take mudguards.

This particular bike is last years model, with 2300 gearing. This years (2014) model comes with the excellent Claris gears.
That said, it's the same frame - a highly regarded one at that.

The wheels are slightly better on this than the Felt but the Felt is better in every other way. No brainer for me.

WRONG !! if you contact boardman they will tell you ALL boardman bike frames have a lifetime warranty and not 2 or 3 years as you say.
i know this for a fact because i phoned them before buying my bike and i was told this by boardman customer service.
