Velvet fleas are cuddly.

Very Cold - Normally these collars are not quick release, although some do have elastic parts there is still a risk of getting it caught hanging.
Is it really worth your cats life?
Speaking as someone who has worked in re-homing cats we never recommend them. If you are going to use a collar always get one which is a safety collar with a quick release.

I personally would never use any of these cheap supermarket products.

I would say just stick to what vets recommend and animal charities use, either Effipro or Frontline, but for best prices buy them online from places such as petmeds.

Many years ago we had one of the flee collars with the expanding elastic section. Found it hanging on the garden fence :( Cat was OK :3 but never used one again.
