Just in time for half term !

Have just visited this wonderful "zoo" in Cumbria which is home to the worlds Sumatran Tiger Trust. The entrance fee is £10.50 per adult but if you take a receipt from Asda in Barrow a few miles away you get a discount. We handed over two receipts and the cost for two adults was reduced to £10 instead of £21. There doesnt appear to be a mimum spend for the receipt so you could buy a paper or bag of crisps.
Doesn't apply on Bank Holidays . Nothing printed on receipt.

Loads of interactive feeding kangaroos, giraffes, penguins
It s worth the visit just to see the unique tiger feeding whereby they attach the meat to the top of a pole and the tigers climb to get their food

Well spotted - that's a good deal.

It looks like for half term also kids can get in for £2 as long as they bring a bear. See the events listings for details.

For visiting other times their annual membership looks good value too - £20.50 and you get to visit each time for a £1.

Thinking about it there were a number of youngsters carrying "teddies" or cuddly creatures , in that case an even better deal this week ! Mine are under three so wasnt aware of this. Cheers

Don't have to spend anything in Asda, just go to the kiosk and ask for receipts and they will give you a handful or as many as you want!!

Going tomorrow 3 adults + asda receipts and 3 kids armed with teddies(teddies pay £2 each), saves a fortune and great day out!!

kids brought forms home from school with all details on and it said you can also use marks and spencers till receipts as well!

what a great deal. It's a good place to take the kids, we went there when we visited friends in Ulverston.

Great offer this place is great.
You will hate the normal zoos after you visit this one, they actually educate you about the animals.

Taking the family on a 3 day trip to Grange-over-sands. The ZOO looks like a great place to take the kids, and a t a very low cost with the receipts and teddies.
Can't wait.

Great deal, I have been several times - bit of a drive but well worth it. Heat added

Rather than BOGOF, why not use Tesco clubcard vouchers here - effectively pay £2.50 entry rather than a fiver...

They take the generic clubcard ticket vouchers that are used in lots of other places.

I'm sorry ASDA... too little, too late.

i want to visit the zoo and see a few good scenic (mountans+lakes) places all within a short (30 min) drive.... is this possible?

it is only about 20 miles from Dalton in Furness which is where South Lakes Wild Animal Park is situated to Coniston and will take about 30 minutes in the car. Coniston Water is a large lake (where Donald Campbell did the record attempts in the Bluebird) and there are plenty of hills and scenic views around.

just a word of warning for those visiting SLWAP, best not to wear white training shoes on the kids unless you don't mind them getting dirty, the paths are mainly red and it does tend to get on the shoes very easily.

Finally, think about taking a picnic as the cafe is not the biggest one and does get busy. there is a fairly large picnic area though. plus you will probably end up spending enough in the gift shop!!!

hi, we went today. You need 1 reciept for each adult , then it is £5 each. kids took a teddy each, so a great day out and cheap too. thanks to op.

This place is always busy, but the local council seem to be doing there best to distroy the place. He built a car park but the local council want it taking up again the last i heard due to planning permission.I think this all boils down to when he shot a rhino dead a few years ago

The place is excellent. We go several times a year, my daughters love feeding the lemurs.
