Ordered this deal tonight for son as he's away - I know I'm a mug lol - and noticed for the first time it stated that the person the food is delivered to must be in possession of the card that payment is taken from as it has to be shown to the person delivering - does anyone know if this is actually new or if I've just never noticed it before ??

I always treat son when he's away - it's only once or twice a year :-) - but if this is something new it's going to be a pain in the neck.

Does anyone work for Dominos and know if this is enforced or if I can just ignore it :-) ??

Thank you :-) !

I think it just means they can ask if they are suspicious, they have never asked me for my card before.

Have you ordered from your local Dominos before? They asked to see my card many years ago when I placed my first order but they haven't asked since.

Another local take-away asked the same when they delivered for the first time too.

Maybe your local Dominos has just had a new manager, or the franchise has been sold to a different organisation.

It may help if you indicate where you are located in case any other member has had a similar experience in your area.

are they still delivering in the snow???

My local Dominos wanted to take an imprint of my credit card using a carbon slip.... Clearly not something I was prepared to let them do seeing as my transaction was already processed online. Apparently just viewing my credit card was not good enough!

I ended up having an argument on my doorstep and then having to talk to the shop manager on the phone before being handed my now cold pizza

Pizza tossers!

My local Dominos recently changed its closing time from 11pm to 5am... which means that now when I stumble drunkenly past, going a good 10 minutes out of my way (as I have done on about half a dozen occasions), they will actually be open ! =D

Thats what I was thinking..... however our local domino's employs all boy racers :?, and they skid around most nights, so I can't see much difference :p

They did deliever yesterday, so i assume so!

They don't deliver to my home despite being 15 mins away
#11
Absolute Rip Off are Dominos. Have to get them on BOGOF to make them the same price as any local pizza joint.
#12
Dominos pizzas quality has gone way down hill!!! On occasion i've had pizzas that are hardly cooked, and from different 'restaurants'. Good deal if you fancy a budget meal...

They don't deliver to my home despite being 15 mins away

They are picky like that, happened to me and im 10 mins away. They also refused to deliver to my GFs, they said that address is blacklisted for stealing pizza, lmao. Her dad is a lecturer, her mum works in the courts hardly the type to steal cheese tomato and bread, they got 2 free pizzas and an apology that night.

I ordered one couple of years ago in my old house and the delivery guy drove into the cemetery and never came out, the store said his mobile went dead and they couldn't reach him, funny enough that was on Halloween - i think he ate the pizza.

The 2 for 1 is reasonable but the prices for takeaway pizza now are crazy, papa johns do pizzas near £20 now. I normally make my own or go to the tasty little Italian pizza parlour down the road, 7 quid for a massive fresh pizza with real cheese.

Hasn't this been posted before btw?

I work at a Domino's store in the south-east:

With regards to card payments, it may vary depending on franchise... but our specific franchise DO check that you have the card at the door now, every time you order.

The decision to close stores will probably be store/franchise specific, give the store a call to double check (They open at 11am).

With regard to not delivering despite you being close, we have a set 'delivery area', and delivery drivers are not insured to drive outside of those areas, therefore we cannot deliver outside of those areas.

Hope this helps someone, happy snow day :)

We used to have 2 here, opposite directions but pretty much the same distance away from each other. One closed and the only remaining one close to my area wont deliver, even though the distance at most is another 2mins ontop of a 5 minute journey. Ridiculous.

For what its worth, they arent delivering in Liverpool because of the weather/road conditions (it says so when you put your postcode in on the website, so if it doesnt, i assume they're still delivering). I've also never been asked to show my card.

Dont forget you can get 50% off collection orders 7 days a week at most franchises if you work for the police or NHS on production of id or warrant card.

Weird insurance policy, if you are in the UK

I live in Newcastle and honestly I think Dominos is great but only on a Tuesday (price for virtually all franchise pizzas is ridiculous - ie Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Dominos etc).

They delivered a week or so ago to my estate which was very deep snow and the driver was fine about it.

I have had slightly low quality pizzas before (usually warm not hot, or a section of crust has come off presumably in the oven), but all you have to do is ring them back (when the driver's gone), tell them the situation with the pizza, and they will offer a re-delivery or a free pizza next time. This has happened twice and both times they haven't even asked when I've rang up to claim my free pizza, no questions at all!!

I don't know what the business with credit cards is though, I've never yet had to produce a card???
#25
Our local Doms says that bit about credit cards on the website but when they come they never ask to see them.

Maybe not... but let me be the first to congratulate you on keeping the prices artificially high by continually stealing from the franchise.

I hope the appointed delivery agent doesn't have the price of the food deducted from their wages.

Well done indeed.
