Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman and Mila Kunis star in this sci-fi action thriller. 30 years after an unspecified environmental disaster, a lone man, Eli (Washington), fights his way across the desolate wasteland of a post-apocalyptic America guarding a sacred book called the Book of Eli, which holds the secrets that can bring civilisation back from the brink of destruction and save humankind. His principal threat is despotic town leader Carnegie (Oldman), who will stop at nothing to get hold of the book and use its secrets to take control of society.

Great film; good one to show off contrast ratios if that's your thing

Got this on ebay for £3.50. Would never pay full price for single DVD's.

For a good DVD and blu ray and brand new, it's pretty good.

I thought this film would be great but it turned out to be religious propaganda wrapped in a weak cliché plot. A little disappointing. Personally I would say it's not worth £6 or even £1. Not voting as this is all opinion.

yeah pretty predictable film really, one to watch once and forget.

never read the book... is it any good :)

Spoiler post and quotes removed.

I might have a look at this simply because the scriptwriter was one Gary 'PC Gamer Editor' Whitta.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this film. I watched it with fairly low expectations, and really enjoyed it. Hard not to like Gary Oldman.

I really like this movie. After watching my last post apocolyptic movie, 'The Road' and nearly committing suicide afterwards I was pleasatnly surprised by this action packed and entertaining flick. Even with the religous element running throughout (Im an atheist!) I still enjoyed it!
