But what is the chance of just having an MOT at Kwikfit without needing a new set of tyres, battery, exhaust or something else !?? - People are often advised to get an MOT from somewhere that doesn't do repairs to ensure it is a fair and honest check.

Really?? This is my first MOT so I thought this was cheap and best. Also Kwikfit being a well known company too.

I was just reading this web page. Anyways I just had my service today from the manufacturing company. My MOT appointment is on Wednesday. So it would be interesting to see how it goes. If they fail then I would fill an appeal form. :)

Well known company doesn't always mean they won't try and do work that doesn't need done.

Very high at my local KwikFit. My local is really good and wouldn't do any other work unless it actually needed doing.

Had a retest before as well and although they could have charged me more for it they didn't. There was once when they a small mistake, but they were quick to resolve the issue. Been using them years.

Some people on here seem to really dislike KwikFit and maybe they're not all great, but they're certainly not all bad!

There's only one garage worse than Kwik-fit and that's Halfrauds. Avoid these two like the bubonic plague.

Well said. They are rip off merchants who do pressure selling. Free Mot is just an excuse to sell or replace things which you don't need. Plus their on spot prices are much worse than their online prices. I have been kwik fit only 2 times and both times I have regretted it. They are experts in making you feel your car is defective and needs urgent repairs. But when you check with other mechanics, the truth comes out and the prices quoted are also too expensive.

Would not take it free of charge.Freezing.

Anything tends to take 4-6 times longer... On tyre replacement they fitted two tyres, although one was a sport... Explained spirt grip and wear in half the time and they were boggled... Since then avoid

You forgot to mention that the Xbox One S has a 4K player.

i took mine to F1 place that was doing MOTs for £17.50 passed no problem, my car is an 11yr old Merc, i then recomended these to freinds, if any of those had a problem, they called them through to the workshop and showed them, gave them a price for repaire, or they could take it away for repaire, and at £17.50 just book it back in after repaire, little problems were shown, but passed

so please dont listen to the "few" that had a car that failed an mot.

they would be the first to moan if these places passed thier car, then they had an accident or worse

Many main dealers have offers when you have it tested with them, surprised you didn't just have them do it while it was in.

Nobody rips you off quicker than a Kwikfit fitter.

I think it depends on the area, I've never had an issue with the one near by, the MOT tester is a good honest guy who knows his stuff. I do all the work on my cars so I use them for a cheap MOT as I know it will pass.

If you are getting a service at a main dealer at the same time then always ask for a discount on the MOT.

I went to get 2 new front tyres at Kwik fit but they refused to do them unless I also had the rears replaced as they were the incorrect speed rating for the car. Apparently my current ones were only rated to 130mph, yet my car's top book speed of 131mph meant I must have the next rating up! I walked away.
