A great game for all family. Sainsburys were selling for a tenner, but my sainsburys dont have it and also this is a penny cheaper

A must-have Wii; game for Summer 2008 is on its way! BOOM BLOX;, the first game developed in collaboration between EA and director and producer, Steven Spielberg, is a high-energy game featuring over three hundred levels, a variety of activities, a cast of over thirty wacky characters, and an easy-to-use in-game editor that allows players to express their creativity.

Fun for kids and the entire family, BOOM BLOX offers action-packed interactive activities that takes Wii play to a new level of creativity and fun with single player, co-op, and versus gameplay. Explore the visceral gameplay-perfectly suited for the Wii's interactivity-that keeps you destroying your way through brain-twisting challenges. Interact with entertaining characters such as the Blox-laying chickens or the baseball throwing monkeys, who bring personality to the Tiki, Medieval, Frontier, and Haunted themed environments. Additionally, remix any level of the game in Create Mode using props, blocks, or characters that have been unlocked during the game. You can virtually build anything you can dream up. Plus, your designs can then be shared with friends or used to challenge others to solve your newly created puzzle via WiiConnect24;.

Key Features:

Throw, grab, and blast - Use fun action gestures with the Wii remote to cause strategic destruction in levels like Tiki-Tower-Topple and Medieval Mayhem.

Over 300 Brain-Busting Challenges

Fast-paced Multi player Action - Play with or against your friends in co-op, versus, or 4-player games.

Make It Your Own - Unlock characters, worlds, blocks, and props throughout the game and use to build whatever you can imagine in Create Mode. Remix any level and share what you create with friends via WiiConnect24.

Over 30 Wacky Blox Characters - Tackle the action and interact with a cast of entertaining characters including animals like a chicken that lays bomb blocks and a beaver that likes to make them explode.

For ages 3 years and over.

One of the best games made for the Wii last year. Shocking that it sold so few copies for such a good game. Do people not realise that every time they pay £40 for a annual rehash game (Fifa, Need for Speed, Tiger Woods, Pro Evo, etc) they are helping make sure that genuine new titles become rarer and rarer. It is up to us to encourage new titles to prosper. Dead Space and Mirrors Edge had similar fates despite also being very good titles. How many new IP's do you think EA are going to start work on this year with the three best ones they did in 2008 all suffering fairly poor sales?

2 copies in Camden if that helps anyone. I work in London, but that's just about enough of a trek to put me off.

You sound like a true gamer....and spot on, EA are a main cash cow though for rehashes, hence why Skate 2 as good as it is, really is no different to Skate...yearly cash ins instead of new titles is becoming the norm and more of a safe bet for companies like EA.

Echo the sentiments of everyone else on this thread - this is a quality game. One of those ones that sets the Wii apart from the rest of the other consoles.

If there's any in stock anywhere, get 'em bought!!!!!!
#17
I've yet to try this, looks like it will be fun
#18
Sold out everywhere near me. Such a good price though. Heat added for the post. ;-)

That would of been true a few years back, you do realise it was EA who developed Boom Blox as well as the others sibeer mentioned? and Fifa 09 is the best football game ever made and has overtaken Pro Evo as the hardcore footie fans choice.

Of course some EA games such as need for speed seem to be pretty poor but sell well, at the end of the day EA need those cash cow games to fund games like Mirrors Edge etc.
#23
I really like this game, dont have much time to play it but is really good
#24
typical argos ****...never have these deals in the NW ...Voted cold as it may as well not exist:roll:

Great game @ a great price!

But yet again non in stock anywhere near me in Bristol/WSM. Isn't there some new law against this type of advertising where they offer a big discount and then don't have reasonable stock to supply the generated demand ?

Cheers

Yes, but you are missing the point, we are aware that EA need the cash, hence the cash cow comment, but what the comments are trying to get at is there are a lot of games that get overlooked that are original in development tthose mentioned by EA, which in the future can put off EA in developing original titles such as Mirrors Edge or Boom Blox which sell poorly, and concentrating on the "safe" bets of endless sequels to rake in the cash instead.

Skate 2 is a prime example under EAs belt of a sequel that really offers nothing new over last years offerings.
#29
Don't think it's quite that simple, if the cash cow games didn't exist and only games like Mirrors Edge, Boom Blox etc would still sell the same amount, as the casual gamers wouldn't bother buying a so called "hardcore gamers" machine/games. Of course that's just my opinion BUT the gaming market has had record sales for the last few years, mainly because of the Wii,

Boom blox/ME are aimed at a different audience, i for one wouldn't buy need for speed over something like ME and i'm sure a chav wouldn't buy ME over NFS, different strokes and all that.

Didn't buy from Argos, but bought from Game for £12.50, ordered it on Wednesday and it arrived yesterday. Prefer paying those extra few quid to actually be able to get it!
