I'm sorry but I cant let this one go.
This is madness, you're telling me you shout at the kids more unless you eat these pills? I think a quick trip to the psychiatrist is in order.
WTF is lactium by the way!?

p.s. lol@ the homeopathy overdosing stunt at boots yesterday! genius!

To me its about the evidence- the scientific evidence. I find products like this exploitative and cynical.

all sounds psychosomatic i.e. you want them to work and they will - you think they wont work and they wont.

Placebo with a fancy name I bet.

It’s not about opinion, it’s about facts, they have been tested and failed to perform, any benefit you may feel is placebo
#12
its cheap enough on the offer and they also offer a money back guarantee if they don't work...so what is there to lose?

This is always an interesting debate. Homeopathy, alternative treatments, vitamin pills (for treating colds, not for prescribed use) have all been scrutinised by the scientific community for years. Anyone interested enough can look at some Cochrane studies and flick through a load of them in academic journals.
However, there is a curious argument to them. In lieu of the placebo/psychosomatic effects, these may in themselves warrant the cost of their use. Studies (proper, scientific ones. Not ones done by TV programmes or dieticians or gloosy magazines. The guys who actually wear the white coats and have their work scrutinised and peer reviewed by other scientists and academics) have shown that branded medication correlates with a significantly higher placebo rate (+30% in some cases) both for if the subjects were aware or not. (There was a higher increase when they were aware of whether they were taking branded medication or not.)
For things like pain relief, this is actually an interesting paradox. Are these branded tablets so bad now if they actually help someone to lessen their pain, albeit psychosomatically? If taking these pills helps you to relax, maybe they are worth the cost?

My opinion? I do what I know is good for me: Eat healthily, exercise regularly and keep myself busy. Psychosematically, this is enough to keep me happy, healthy and destressed.
