If you like merlot then you should like this Bordeaux claret. Reduced from £71.88 i.e. just under £6 a bottle, NOW £4.04 per bottle

Edit: seems the direct link takes you to the homepage: Product Code: 00562829

Delivery £3.50 per order

Loads of other stuff in their sale. I ordered some clothes at the same time which reduces the delivery cost per item.

It may be Bordeaux Merlot but it won't be the same wine as the deal I've referred to is an M&S own label product. Generic Bordeaux varies in quality and as with most things, I find the M&S versions to be better. Certainly more consistent from batch to batch.

So are you saying a Panasonic TV purchased from Panasonic is better than a Tv purchased from say currys, of the same make and serial number??????

That is a ridiculous comparison when talking about wine. The more appropriate comparison would be "are you saying a 42" TV from x is better than a 42" TV from y", which is fairly likely to yield a definite answer one way or the other.

as PR1 says, your comparison is nonsense.

Bordeaux is a massive wine region with thousands of grape growers. These cheaper wines are blends from many different sources produced to an industrial scale. It is highly unlikely that Tesco & M&S use the same blender. Even if the do, the blend is likely to be different.

What I am saying, after many years drinking the stuff, is that when it comes to own label WINE, you will USUALLY get a better WINE from M&S on a £ for £ basis than Tesco.
