At least it's not a "not as good as mw2"

The fact that it doesn't compare to CoD makes it an insta-winner :)

Only seen my house mate play this.. didn't interest me at all to be honest but he loved it.
#11
If you like COD4 stay away from this.

Boredofthelands.

This is a very boring game.... you do the same missions every time. Avoid at all costs unless your into RPG.

good price for a well hyped recent release. the game itself however imo is wildly overrated - a lot of running around empty environments doing repetitive 'collect stuff / kill generic enemies, report back' type missions. it can be fun at times especially in co-op if you have friends at the same level as you, but when i played borderlands i just had the overbearing feeling i should be doing something else with my time. it's decent and worth a try, just don't expect it to be fulfill the hype.
#15
Great game. I completed a single play through in around 40 hours and enjoyed every minute of it. I've just downloaded the two DLC's for it and will play these through CO-OP with my little bro. Might even give the game another run through later down the line CO-OP.

This is personally my game of the year.

Lacking slightly in variation but at least it tried something different and considering that Gearbox had only ever made WW2 shooters before this game was exceptionally well executed. Bought the first piece of DLC but still haven't played it yet. Roll on Borderlands 2 is all I can say.

Didn't see that before I posted! I'm not against RPGs though, just had my fill of boring games.

See to me, World of Warcraft is exactly the same thing... and it's only made marginally better by being multiplayer.

Agreed, though. Fun in co-op, not in single player.

sorry but what's RPG?

I honestly coudn't have said it better myself. Many better games out their... Mw2, Cod4, Forza 3... And Bioshock two, Mass effect two (which ive played and can confirm the hype, invisiblity ftw), and Final fantasy.

Three RPG's coming out soon at are just simply, amazing.

RPG. Role Playing Game, its usually where you can customise your own character alot, like, specify what he looks like, what skills he can do, what weapons he can use.

Role Playing Game

But also agree, its dull as dishwater this game hardly game of the year in my book, but games are very subjective depends on what you like. This I found was doing missions roughly the same over and over again with annoying respawning baddies just making it a "grind"

It's a great game and well worth that price I think. It either clicks with you or it doesn't. Of course you'll have to put up with Amazons postal service.

looks like a marmite game to me.
me, i liked it but got bored towards the end.
my mate loved it and played it through a couple of times.
if you like RPG, and want a bit of FPS thrown in. try it.

Rocket Propelled Grenade,you should get one,there fun ! :)
#28
Good game, repetitive but the exploding bodies kept me amused.
However! If you're going to get DLC I'd give the underdome a miss, unless you're really into trophies, it was such a waste of money and time :/

Almost as fun as taking the 'mickey' out of somebody who does not know what the acronym for a Role-Playing Game is.

Didn't think it was a RPG really (although obviously it has elements). They bill it as a Role Playing Shooter (RPS) - I would say it was more of a FPS with the ability to power up your weapons and level up - a bit like you level up in the online game of CODMW2. The tag RPS / RPG initially put me off buying and when I eventually bought, at first I found the sheer number of guns confusing. Ultimately though I prefer this to MW2, and so does my brother. (Hardly a large sample I know). Well worth a shot @ £17ish

I'm at level 32 now and the huge empty environments are begining to be a bit of a problem, that and I have a really decent shotgun ((playing as Brick)) a good shield and lots of energy, so instead of tactically sniping things I just wander round taking hits and blasting things in the face, which is far more entertaining than it should be.

The zombie island DLC looks good although only played 5 mins of it.

...but which weapon would you use for that shot? ;)

Seriously, how many hours do you estimate you have spent on the game already?

It sounds a far better buy in terms of hours of available (offline) gaming compared to the higher priced (and often over-hyped) "...Modern Warfare 2".

However, perhaps “Borderlands” is one of those titles that you will fancy an online game of in six months time but find that the barren wastelands are even more barren than before as the online community has moved on to something new.

The multiplayer environments of the "Call of Duty" franchise do seem to continue with a strong contingent of players even when a newer title in the series has been released.

Hopefully the continued support of "Borderlands" (with subsequent downloadable content) will ensure longevity in the respect of online games too.

The only clumsiness shown here was the amount of time that passed before you thought of something mildly amusing to add.

Well done you.

I have played about 30 hours local co-op with my flatmate, good game imo.
