Is this a hammer drill?
#3
How does this compare with the Makita from last week ?
#4
I actually already own one of there (Gutted as I paid 180 for it!) it is without a doubt my most used tool. It is excellent as a screwdriver and a drill and the battery last for ages.
#5
Much better than the Makita deal actually as it comes with lithium-ion batteries which are much more powerful and hold the charge!
Returned my Makita from last week back and got one of those...

Yes.

What's the point if you can get the drill for the same price at Amazon .. not a brilliant deal then is it?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-Cordless-Lithium-Hammer-Drill/dp/B0033UWLVK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1290281243&sr=8-1

Amazon says only 1 battery included, the B&Q offer says 2.

not sure if this is the bettery

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Battery-Bosch-18VE-2-Li-Ion-Charger/dp/B002NQAC1Q/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1290296777&sr=1-11

but if it is then at £50 it makes the b&Q deal pretty hot indeed.

I've been keeping an eye on this drill for a while on Amazon, B&Q and other online retailers, waiting for the price to come down. Amazon only reduced their prices on Friday after the B&Q deal went live. They normally sell this drill for £140 and you only get one battery with it. Expect the price to go back up when the B&Q offer ends.

That's not it but I agree, this is a hot deal. A genuine battery directly from Bosch costs almost as much as this B&Q deal (91);

Also buying online entails problems when the item goes faulty, best to have a shop to walk into and be dealt with straight away.

Brill ordered - just what I needed with quidco
#20
Excellent price... just ordered one from the nextday.diy.com site at the price quoted.

I would never buy a green Bosch product... the green are cheap n cheerful DIY specification they import from the Far East. You need to buy their "blue" product range which is German built for everyday, professional use.
#22
I agree that Blue is much better than Green - but that is not surprising given the price difference. I have both colours and the Green versions are still going strong after ten years of good service. It is the batteries that pack up first.

Despite having a couple of "blue" cordless drills I ordered this deal. You can never have too many drills!

It arrived today. It is not made in the Far East. The drill is made in Hungary and the batteries are made in Poland. I haven't had a chance too use it yet but I am impressed with it so far.
