By far the cheapest I've seen this, the kettle is also half price at £21.99. Not available for home delivery, only Reserve and Collect. When I went to pick them up in store, both were still being displayed at full price, but they scanned for the cheaper price at the till. A fantastic bargain, both kettle and toaster for less than the price the kettle was originally.

I paid £14,73 for the kettle - and £12.23 for the toaster (At the Perth shop - next to the A9) - so may be further reduced.

I think I'd rather have one that cooks bread.

beware even if it shows in stock online it may not be there when you go to pick up. I and many others had that problem with the morphy richards toaster posted a few days ago. b&q stock system and customer service leaves a lot to be desired

The Private Collection?

So private, that anyone with £14.98 can have one....now that's what I call exclusive.
#12
Reserved toaster and kettle in Kidderminster - thanks.

Reserved both the kettle and toaster, £36 is a great price!

Cheers OP

Kettle which review:

This Bosch kettle from its Private Collection range is quick, taking just two minutes 28 seconds to boil a litre of water and it's blissfully quiet.

But it's one of the heaviest kettles we've tested and isn't the easiest kettle to pour, particularly when filled to its maximum level.

The spout opening is small so it's best to fill it through the lid.

The push button releases the lid and is easy to use, but you still have to open the lid the rest of the way back manually. There are water level windows on both side of the handle so it's suitable for right and left-handed use, but when holding the handle the windows are slightly obscured by your hand.

The filter has a very fine mesh, but the small spout opening means it's not particularly easy to remove, and if you're not careful you could put it back in wonky, so be sure to relocate it properly after cleaning.

This 1.7 litre brushed stainless steel Bosch is part of the Private Collection range so you can also get a matching toaster and coffee maker.!pPros: Quick to boil, very quiet

Cons: Heavy to use, water level indicators not very clear

I have had this Toaster for over 1 year now. Works well and no probs. Recommended

call the store before you pick it up, confirm that they actually have it in store.

Nice one, heat added. Reserved for local pickup tomorrow - maybe my mate who has a staff discount card can get me an additional 10% - if he buys it for me as a *gift* :)

Yeah thats why it's called a toaster not a breader. Where do these people come from on here:prop:

4 in stock tonight at Aberdeen Bridge of Don B&Q.

Picked 1 up myself.

Thanks... Great post ... reserved one for pick-up tomorrow

For people getting the kettle, you will see many reviews with people having concerns with risk of shorting.

We got this kettle a few months back when Costco had them for about £20, few weeks ago I got a call from the other half saying no sockets working.

Got home and the breaker had tripped and kettle had stopped working.

Its got a 1 year warranty, whats to worry about?. KEEP THE RECEIPT and if it breaks you get your money back.

Well point numbero uno, some people might expect more than a year out of a kettle!

Numero deux... No one wants a short.

Receipt won't boil your water or call an electrician for you.

Anyway our one had a longer warranty but given it blew up after a matter of months time was not an issue, nor was KEEPING THE RECEIPT as don't need a receipt to return to Costco.

There are more negatives with the kettle, just go and read the reviews

I'm now on my THIRD black Bosch kettle. The first leaked from day one and was sent back. the second leaked after 2 months and was also sent back. The third one isn't leaking (yet) but switches itself off, so you basically have to stand and watch it. also all three kettles have made the water taste really weird... it doesn't seem to get any better with time either. I'm so sick of it I'm actually going to chuck this out and try the Krupps one, which i've heard is great. DON'T BUY THIS KETTLE!

I've had this kettle for a few months now and I must say that I was delighted with it at first! It has a smooth sleek design and it's a lot nicer to look at than my old Kenwood kettle (and a lot quieter too!)

I didn't read the reviews before I purchased the kettle - no doubt I wouldn't have purchased if i had!! Anyway, I had no problems with it to start with but after probably 2 months of use, it stopped boiling water correctly i.e. it would start boiling and then stop before the water was completely boiled. Quite a few times I poured myself a lukewarm cup of tea and was not at all happy!! Now every time I boil water, I allow it to finish warming up and then press the boil button again so that it finishes boiling properly (you can hear the bubbling). The kettle also started leaking shortly after this problem - not sure quite where it was leaking from but there was water everywhere!

All in all, I am very very disappointed. Bosch has a nice image and I don't know how they can bring out such an unreliable product. I'll be sending mine back under the manufacturer's warranty! DON'T BUY THIS - there are plenty of other much nicer ketlles that are both pleasing to the eye AND reliable!

-------

Like I said plenty more, I bought it based on it being Bosch and assuming it would be decent.

Lots of comments about the water tasting funny too, but keep your receipt and wave it at the kettle, the water will magicallly taste better

I get the feeling that this Kettle really got to you. Get a Hammer from the Garage and Release the Rage against the Machine.

Bought both on way back from holiday.

Kettle was £14.73

Toaster was £12.23

They came in white with two different versions - differing in the lesser contrasting colour (grey or brownish).

Stainless steel was far more expensive - but about a dozen left in Perth.

Nope. all I'm guilty of is trusting the Bosch name and warning other potential buyers who might expect half decent life expectancy that it might be not be available.

I get the feeling you jump to conclusions and have opinions only for your world, hence me spelling out using 'other' peoples experiences

Its a 20 Quid Kettle. You really need to move on with your Life.:whistling:

Great deal. Shame it's out of stock at my local store. It's had some good reviews, though apparently the slots are way too small for most baked-in-store loaves...

It's not a £20 kettle anymore, its over £40 like most places bar Costco, who do not intend to stock it anymore.

It might be an expensive £20 kettle anyway for reasons mentioned ie electrics.

I think most people would expect a Bosch kettle to last longer than a matter of months, irrelevent of if's ists got warranty, thanks for that really helpfull advice about keeping the reciept.

I would never have even considered that before! :whistling:

I reserved a toaster and kettle on Sunday night. It said that kettle was in stock and toaster low stock. On Monday morning I received a call saying that both were out of stock. Yesterday, I thought I'd check if either were back in stock, the kettle is showing as being low stock (so they couldn't have had a new delivery), toaster still out of stock, but they are both now back to the full price. I reserved one last night and strangely have not received a phone call to tell me it's out of stock. Would I have a case for trying to get it at the price I initially reserved it for? TIA. :whistling:
