Cheapest John Lewis Washing Machine on the John Lewis website is £299.
How is £17 more exspensive much cheaper?
typical salesman! Cant even admit to being wrong when they've been told countless times. Stop giving out terrible incorrect advice. Someone may well have bought one of those crap JL washers on your recommendation thinking they are getting a re-badged Bosch.
And they all cost more than this deal lol
Sorry Dad LOL
grow up!
Most common problem on a Bosch is worn brushes (wear and tear) - £45 including labour to repair.
Pumps are about £7 for an OEM replacement.
Motors almost never go, I see about 2-3 a year, normally when they have got wet. But new replacements are £80, reconditioned about £40.
It's very rare that I write off a Bosch, and I have many customers with machines much older than 12 years still ploughing through the laundry!

I knew standards at JL had slipped lately, but you are staggeringly immature and your advice could cost people hundreds of pounds. Added to my ignore list.
Replacing a Zanussi I've had for about 7 years.
The Zanussi didn't need to be replaced, but it's just not big enough or quick enough to handle the family washing (I bought it when I was single) and also Jiu Jitsu Gi's take up the whole drum pretty much.
^^^^ another idiot appears!
The lesser models i.e Classix range, are a bit lower on quality as obvious made to a budget but i would still say they are better than hoover/candy/electrolux etc rubbish.
If i was you, i would go for the models above the classix range.
The Exxcel 7 (WAQ28460GB) was coming in at around £350 a few weeks ago.
you can £50 cahback on this washing machine on bosch website
Bosche or Roger Miele.
Looking to buy a top of the range Siemens next time though.
With washing machines I just don't trust companies like Panasonic, Samsung or LG. They are not as experienced as German companies with washing machines and all the tech they add to their machines just seem very gimmicky. We are not buying a TV lol. The Samsung "ECO Bubble"? what a load of rubbish. Bubbles already exist in normal washers from the detergent etc. If it really was innovative then I am sure other companies would have adopted the bubble tech by now.
Panasonic machines just look good and thats it.

Nothing like trial by fire :D
Unfortunately I've since now become a bit of a Bosch wh0re; washing machine, fridge, freezer, mower and now boiler :P
Looking at the tread plates for your multi-purpose Maplin Ladder bargain in the background, I would say you were a HUKD wh0re!
;)
Because you'll be so impressed by your Bosch that you'll have to buy another one and have twice as much fun.
Mine has been going 15 years and still chugging along like old faithful.
When my old Bendix finally gave up the ghost, the repair engineer told me to get a Bosch, but only if the label on the reverse of the machine said 'Robert Bosch' as these were made by Bosch. If the label just said 'Bosch', he reckoned they were made under license by a couple of other manufacturers. I think he said one was Zanussi. I've had this Bosch for five years now, and I've just had the motor brushes replaced. Mind you, it gets used at least once, if not twice, every day.
Not quite true but close - all machines are made by Bosch, but some are made in Spain by a company called Belay, who Bosch have bought (because Spanish consumers tend to buy Spanish machines, so the only way Bosch could get market share in Spain was to buy a Spanish brand). They are not as good as the "German" Boschs. Most of the cheaper Bosch washing machines are made in Poland now but they are just as reliable as the German-made ones. None are made by Zanussi.
The easiest way to tell is the ones with the half-moon shaped door handles are German or Polish machines and are great, e.g.

The ones with square door handles are Belay machines are worth avoiding as they have design problems including sealed tubs, stupid filter designs, etc.

All the Boschs linked to above from Currys above are Polish machines AFAIK. Bosch seem to be phasing out the Spanish machines in the UK probably as they have damaged the Bosch brand.
