My Bosch has been running faultlessly for 9 years now so the brand is good as far as I'm concerned and the Consumers Association agree
Good price for a Bosch

Reevoo based on over 300 reviews give it a 8.7/10. http://www.reevoo.com/reviews/mpn/bosch/wae2416s

Cant go wrong with a Bosch and is proven with them always offering a free 2 year gaurantee. Bargain

Look on Bosch website for free extended warranty information - think its 5ys, to celebrate there trading 'anniversary'

Thanks :). Had a look, 5 years would have been great! Could only find 4 years on selected refrigeration only that expires today.

Thanks for the link to the review dvdaddict:thumbsup:
Bad points would be the beeping for 30min after the load had finished and no child lock in combination with sensitive buttons.

Will upload expert review in a moment.

I've had a Bosch Classixx for 4 years now after destroying varying Hoovers in 2yrs on average. It's an excellent machine & I would replace it with the same product without hesitation. There's been no drop in spin speed over time (unlike the Hoovers) & it copes with a daily family wash without any problem. The 1200 spin is very efficient & the 6kg load takes a family sized wash.

Not knocking this deal but we have a Bosch Logixx 8KG model and it's OK but not wonderful. The interface and workings can be irritating, though I suspect lower models may be more sensible. Our's broke at exactly 365 days, faulty outlet pump, fortunately there was the 2 year guarantee. But we've never had a washing machine fail at 12 months.

I wouldn't rave like some about Bosch machines.

I have this model and its great. Lasted so much longer than the hotpoint rubbish we had before.

We have a Bosch dishwasher and that's fine.
We replaced our washer last year and decided to go for either a high end Bosch or a cheaper Siemens on the advice of some technical forums and a Miele was out of our reach.
We got a Siemens for around £320 with 5 years warranty with some codes on Debenhams, so year for year cheaper than the Bosch.

I have this model which i bought for a really good price from Kitchen Science. I found a few drawbacks with it. The softener tray gets clogged up after every other wash with clumps of washing powder, i read on a forum somewhere that it must be a design fault, to help with this i dilute the fabric conditioner, i still have to clean it all out quite regular but not as often as before.

The bleeping is really annoying after the wash has finished and the buttons are really sensitive, you only have to slightly lean on the machine and it either changes the wash or pauses it. With ours i have found the door lock sometimes doesn't work.

I find it copes well with a large load but when washing one item on woollens or delicates it doesn't spin..

Hope this helps...

You can turn the beep off!! I can't remember how I did it but it is in the instruction manual, mine only beeps now if I set it to run and forget to close the door. The child lock thing is annoying though, my 2yr old loves to 'help' with my washing.

We've had a bosch washing machine for 9 years, used nearly every day and still going strong and a bosch tumble drier and dishwasher which are about 6 years old. Couldn't fault them. I always use a ball in the drum for washing liquid so the drawer doesn't get clogged - never use fabric softener so have had no problems.
#14
I have this washer and have also found out how to turn the volume for the beeps down or off! It is in the manual! I have found no fault with this washer other than the softner tray getting gunked up but this isn't a prob as I take the drawer out to dry anyway

We've been using a Bosch washing Machine (WFF 1200) since 1998. It copes well with almost daily use and is absolutely bullet-proof. Never had a problem with it. Bought a Bosch fridge-freezer 6 years ago and never had a problem with that either. I will buy a Bosch product with my eyes closed.

Can everyone on here with a Bosch washing machine please confirm their spin speed, as I would like to have one with up to 1600 to properly drain the clothes in order to dry quicker.
Please confirm :
1. Spin Speed and
2. How drained are the clothes.
thanks in advance.

Good find!

i have a bosch machine that is 10 years old now, nothing has gone wrong with it. Had loads of problems with SERVIS and zanussi machines in the past. This bosch has been great. The only thing that has happened is that a crack appeared on the power button. But careful switching on and off causes no problems. I always use liquid sachets directly in the tub and calgon in the drawer, i dont know if that is why it has lasted so long also. What are peoples opinions on detergent types and uses?????

by the way, i would recommend that deal all day long. The machine is good value and the "annoyances" are hardly worth mentioning, at the end of the day the most important thing is reliability :)

I always thought that the true Bosch washing machines had the handle on the left of the glass door. Mind you parents have a Bosch washing machine that has been going strong for years.

Hot.

Unfortunately you cannot compare past appliance’s reliability with all recent acquisitions/brand changes/factory movements/Chinese suppliers domination. I have Hotpoint 7805 dishwasher which was made in West Germany (pre 1990?) and still washes twice a week better than any of the recent integrated Whirlpools/Indesits given for free with kitchens. Robert Bosch/Neff/Siemens appliances divisions use the same suppliers/parts/factories/design-research facilities (share designs and patents) so in effect are the same company really, with some image separation upheld by limiting model range and some interface variations. With acquisition of AEG (domestic appliances part) by Electrolux they are indeed currently second only to Miele brand-wise with little or no difference between their corresponding model ranges.

Does this have a filter under a panel at the front? The problem I have with my current machine is that the filter is integrated to the machine at the back making it very diffucult to clean and remove.
Can anyone advise?

Thanks!
#23
Filter is definately on the front, it's not too noticeable which is nice.
#24
Filter what filter? The flap at bottom is for drainage if you need to drain it ever or lost a ring or something. There is no filter.

Hi There,

I havea Bosch washing machine and dishwasher, both of which are wonderful. I have ahd the washing machine for about 4 years with no problem. Mum-in-laws one did have the blocked softener draw but the engineer said that it is only a problem in high water pressure areas and to turn down the water pressure a bit, stops it throwing the softener up into the workings. I use softener every wash and have never had a problem. I just love bosch products and the after care service is second to none. I tested this when my Bosch boiler wasnt getting hot enough, the engineer came out and explained that we were not operating it properly told us not to worry as we were apologising profusely, and to call if we needed any help. Cant fault them. Best of luck with this.

I don't think bosch are as highly regarded for reliability as they used to be.

Agree 100%. Newly designed and built BOSH gear is nowhere near as reliable and well built as older stuff imho. Personally I would pay the extra and get well reviewed Miele equipment as their build quality and reliability are regarded as amongst the best in the industry!

That said this is still a hot deal as £247 for a BOSH Washing machine with 2 year warranty is nice and cheap :-)
#28
Bosch are still pretty good but all the "mine has been great for 10 years" comments with white goods are a bit misleading. Bosch has changed owners twice and no doubt production lines dozens of times in the last ten years and there has been a move away from long lasting product design towards disposable and cheap in most lines.

10 years ago Electrolux and Zanussi would have been premium lines - now I would touch neither.
#29
Nothing is built as well as it was ten years ago but then things like washing machines are far more affordable nowadays. Miele would be my preference if I could pick any machine but let's face it you'll never get one for less that £250. If you look at the Which reports, most of the Bosch machines tested score very highly on reliability in comparison to what other brands offer so I would say they are a safe buy.
