As usual with Argos the 'was' price is not a true reflection.

This can be had in many DIY stores for pretty much the same price, maybe about a pound dearer, difference is they likely to have stock and their website might even work.

Only plus point if getting from Argos is saving on delivery perhaps but from other stores it can be free if happen to be spending around £40

...Blades not included...

So you can't use this straight out of the box until you buy blades? Bizarre!
How much are the blades, and where to buy?

The ones at a similar price seem to all be the corded version.
This cordless version was priced at £29.99 before the price cut at Argos.
Voted hot by me, a cordless strimmer for less than £17 seems good to me.

Spoke to Argos and they confirmed that this does come with blades.

I then queried Bosch technical support about replacement blades, the part number for replacement blades is f016102390 (pack of 24).

Just picked mine up from my local store. :)

It comes with twelve blades (two loose and a pack of 10). Looks like the Bosch guy may have given me duff info; the booklet that comes with the trimmer says the part number for replacement blades is F016800177 (same as ART23 model).

Hey gr8 find edi I reserved mine online but have lost email, does it matter or can I just go in store with cat. number.

Regards

You can use the cat number if they have stock ,but if your reserve one was the last you would need the number for that.
#12
They can look up your reservation number if you give them the TIME you reserved it.

Just picked up the one I reserved yesterday. Came complete with 12 blades, very light, very quiet. Well pleased.

Just reserved one, seems a good price for a cordless one. HOT!

Anyone got theirs yet? Went to buy one at a different shop but they claimed the blades broke easily.

Desperately trying to find a good strimmer as myold Black and Decker one finally failed but each of the replacements I've tried have been completely useless - a new Black and Decker one was using the entire reel(!) for just one session of grass cutting. The Bosch reel variant reflex system doesn't seem to reel out the wire properly and a little Flymo one is much the same.

If this one is no cop, any other recommendations would be welcome...

They do break easily, not if you only have grass to deal with, but in and around trees etc, its not much cope to be honest.

Better off with my old battered one infact

Got one too -worse buy i have ever had - went through nearly whole pkt of blades doing about 5 yards !! Blades were flying off all over , breaking etc -total **** -no wonder you get a pkt with it !!
Took mine back and got a refund -rather use a pair of scissors and i have a really big lawn !
