Hello all

This seems excellent value and better than the John Lewis Bosch Washing Machine in their Christmas Sale

Appliances Online claim to be the cheapest retailer and is £59 cheaper than John Lewis and the appliance comes with a 2 year warrantee.

Bosch WAQ283S0GB

With an 8kg drum this Bosch will wash 40 adult T-shirts, a handful of large bath towels or even the sheets on your double bed in one go. It’s really remarkable that the WAQ283S0GB is so energy efficient. You’ll spend just £21.48 per year in running costs which is amazing compared to standard models. It works out to a saving of around £100 across the life of the machine.

When you’re running a full load you’ve got VarioPerfect options at your fingertips. A push of a button tells the machine to run either a fast wash – very handy for doing a load before you nip out – or an extra efficient wash. It’ll take longer than a standard wash, but you’ll only use a fraction of the electricity and water to do it.

Really useful if you need a few things clean before heading out to work, you’ll love the Super Quick 15’. It’s designed to clean around three outfits at once and you’ll have them washed and spun in just 15 minutes. For extra speed the 3D Aqua Spa jets spray and soak your clothes faster than a normal washer would. It means you’re detergent gets to work a little faster and your clothes get a more thorough clean.

The unique patterns on the side of the machine are part of the Anti Vibration Design. Extra insulation absorbs sound and small movements so your wash cycles are quiet and smooth. You’ll find your washes are barely louder than your fridge freezer. It’s particularly useful if you’ve got open plan living as it’s not going to drown out the TV while you’re running a load.

Thanks all,

Chris

Can you buy extended warranty or will John Lewis price match?

Thanks for posting. I’ve added the price and merchant to the title.
Here’s a ‘Help’ link which gives tips and advice on thread posting.

I have ordered one from JL. I have set 3 weeks delivery date as I could anticipate something better coming up. I m dual minded about cancelling JL order n get this one instead. Any help?
#9
John Lewis wont price match FYI unless there is a high street store - good reviews on trustpilot for this company ;)
#10
Seem a good company
The spec is better
And positive reviews

One from JL appear a one off that has not been tried and tested

Ordered. Cheers Harry_Potter!

That sales patter is one of the best I have read in a long time, makes me jealous that I can't afford it, otherwise I would have bought it in a heart beat.

Do they offer free delivery?
#15
Almost bought this a few days ago, but a few reviews said it was noisy. Noise is an issue for us so I spent a bit more on a logixx 9kg version which is pretty quiet.

Delivery etc are the same price - as the website is run by the same company. From wikipedia:

DRL Limited is an online kitchen appliance business in the United Kingdom with headquarters and video studios in Horwich and offices in Manchester. It runs the websites ao.com (formerly Appliances Online), Appliance Reviews and Appliance Deals, and specialises in the selling of white goods. DRL also owns the Manchester-based white goods distribution company, Expert Logistics. DRL Limited provides white label kitchen appliance websites for clients including Boots, Next, House of Fraser, allproductsdirect, Screwfix, Empire Direct and B&Q.

This model is on the Which? Best Buy list, and they said...

Pros: Excellent synthetic cleaning, good rinse and spin, quick cotton cycle

Cons: Very noisy when spinning

I just purchased from AO before Xmas, and their service was fantastic! Would highly recommend them! I also got a Bosch washer but the 7kg with 1600rpm spin and bigger LCD panel. Same price as this If you're not fussed about drum size.

I have this machine and it's not very noisy when spinning at all, it does emit a quite high pitched whirring sound, but having my door closed you can't really hear it. Mind you, it replaced a Dyson washing machine which was a bit of a beast in size and noise, so anything compared to that will be quiet. Still, I wouldn't call it loud, really recommend the machine - especially at this price, I don't think you'd get better.

Bought early Nov @ John Lewis at about £339 after Bosch cashback, felt it was a great deal even then - especially now at £299. The fast programmes are especially impressive.

£6.24 tracked at Topcashback. Deservedly hot deal - got to 276 degrees on here recently at a similar price, but that required manually claiming £50 cashback from Bosch.

£339 after Cashback with John Lewis
My machine has broken down, and has a couple months of insurance left
Wondering whether to just replace : /

Bought a condenser dryer from this company a few months ago - service was second to none - great delivery service.
#23
Had a vented dryer delivered today from AO and the service is brilliant.

It's £358 on JL online, no mention of cashback anymore.

If I were you, I'd just use the insurance to get my machine fixed and use it until it dies & has no warranty. No point buying one when you can get yours fixed at no extra cost.

enjoying reading all the positive feedback on ao. looking to purchase 5 big appliances from them in the not too distant future!

Bought the Samsung WF80F5E0W4W from AO last week. Ordered at 00:40 Saturday and arrived Sunday for free. 2 guys brought machine in dressed as Father Christmas. Very friendly and shown me how to remove transit bolts.
Can honestly say best online purchasing experience ever.

I'm considering sending my John Lewis Bosch machine back and going for this one instead. I was not impressed with the fact that mine turned out to be a Maxx and not an Exxcell.
#31
I ordered this one too. I thought I would share this deal after my order while it is already here. Cheers
#32
Cancelled JL order and gone for this one, thanks OP

john lewis do cashback?
#34
Cheers, have cancelled my JL order and ordered here. Well I say cancelled, they wouldn't let me cancel it as the order was ready for dispatch (in one week's time!) so they just said to reject it at the door and they'll refund it.

top deal, I was considering getting one from coop electrical after the discussion of the John Lewis deal, and it's £370 there!

Both myself and parents bought new washing machines from AO in the last 3 weeks. Service was excellent - they text or call you with your ETA delivery time the night before and keep you well informed. They do also try and sell you their 'lifetime warranty', but aren't too pushy!
#38
Bought this from the Co-op earlier in the month. After various stackable voucher codes, Quidco and Bosch cashback it came to around £286 (which included their installation - normally £19.99). Really made up with it it's a terrific machine!

looks like a good washer for this price, some people on mse were saying they were getting lots of cold calls after using ao, even when they'd ticked the relevant box.

Just had a gas hob delivered from ao.com.

Customer service was first rate. They called before delivery to arrange a delivery time that suited me.

For an online company it had a more personal touch with regards cs.
