Yes I know it is lazy not to cut your own lawn, but I work long hours during the week and like to spend my time at the weekend with my family.

There have been a lot of cold votes for this - probably from people who have small gardens or who have not seen what these can do.

Please remember, you are meant to vote on whether this is a good deal. (Almost 1/3 discount is a great deal for this).

If this item is not for you, please do not vote cold but move to another webpage.

For me, this is the best thing that I have bought in the last 10 years.

I could wash up the dishes, but have a dish washer. I could handwash my clothes but have a washing machine. I could mow my lawn, but have this robotic lawnmower.

I have a large lawn and it would take me almost two hours to cut it with a ride on mower. I would then be left with a load of grass cuttings that needed disposal.

If you cut your grass weekly during the growing season then you will probably cut the lawn about 35 times a year, so thats a lot of time.

I missed the flymo robotic lawnmower deal on amazon earlier this year, but this is a much better model.

It connects to your iphone / android.

It cuts in straight lines, unlike the flymo which has a random cutting pattern.

No more grass cuttings to get rid off - it cuts the lawn and the clippings are "mulched"

use the link here to see the "lawnmower day" video

https://www.bosch-garden.com/gb/en/garden-tools/indego-moments.jsp#video1

Bought one of these on amazon a month ago (Amazon usually sell for £1250 but I thought I had a bargain at £1050)

£849 for this is a steal.

It comes with a 5 year guarantee.

I was a bit sceptical about this before buying but have been really pleased.

It connects to the internet automatically (has built in sim card - no subscription to pay!!!) and you can control it from your iphone / android

It maps out your lawn and you can see how much of your lawn has been cut on your iphone / android

Can set it to automatically cut the lawn on set days or "smart" where it calculates the grass growth according to the weather and will cut when necessary.

Friends and work colleagues are very impressed by it.

If you choose to vote cold, then please enjoy your sunday mowing the lawn in the rain.

Tried that, didn't work out, so replaced her with a Bosch wifey v2 (comes with 5 years unlimited mileage warranty)

Nice but this would get stolen in a matter of weeks, no matter any security features of lock codes etc.

Plus with winter setting in soon these should drop in price.

Cutting the lawn is not a chore.

lol, can tell you don't really mow your lawn. even tractor mowers don't miraculously make the grass cuttings disappear by mulching them. you still have mulch to dispose of.

I'd say nearer 30. You should be doing it at least weekly from April until the end of September. Maybe twice in March and October and once in November.

Get a goat . That will get rid of the grass clippings and recycle them into lawn fertiliser . If it breaks down you can just eat it . Win win scenario

What if you don't like eating grass?

It has GPS and your mower can be traced.

Also, it is linked to your bosch account and can not be used by anyone else unless you have transferred the ownership to them

Mine is set to mow twice a week. So it cuts only a small amount of the top of the grass. This falls onto the lawn and sinks to the ground. No mess, no grass clippings to clean up, no cut grass pieces that stick to your shoes and then walk into the house.

If you have been used to using a tractor mower, but cutting less frequently then you will get grass bits on the lawn. (yes , just like you, I did have this problem with my tractor mower but have not had any problem with this robot mower.)

Well now you put it like that I can't see any thick scally taking it and then dumping it in the local river they find it's not worth anything. I'll get one with much more confidence now. Thanks.

If you live in a high crime area then perhaps its not for you but I have put the docking base in an area of the garden that cant be seen by the road.

I have set it to mow at night. So unless the burgulars spy into your garden at night, it should be safe

You sound like a great neighbour.

Yeah there's been a spate of thefts from garden sheds etc, thick scallys would just take it and dump it. I'd imagine this thing running around at night would attract things being hurled at it too. Unless you have a garden with no neighbours near.

You do realise that burglars operate mainly under the cover of darkness?

Not sure why the negative votes.

This item may not be suitable for some hotukdeal people but for those of us with a larger garden, this is a godsend.

This item is like buying a BMW. - it is not something that everyone can afford, but if you are in the market for something like this, it is a bargain.

You are meant to vote on whether the item is a good deal - I thought that something that has a £400 discount would be hot.

Its not loud so doesn't disturb the neighbours.

If you live in a high crime area like you, you could lock it in your shed when not in use

Robot lawn mowers always look like a good idea but they still need that perimeter wire, so what happens when you have three pieces of grass, front side and rear, or the more conventional front and back lawn. Do you have to buy two? Or get another docking station and more wire and carry it about?

For large gardens they are no doubt a help, I would imagine that most people with large gardens would invest roughly the same money in a decent mower, even a slightly more expensive ride on. But I am not a large garden owner so I do not know.

I have a large garden. Even with a ride on, it took 2 hours to mow the lawn. I was also left with two green bins of lawn clippings to dispose of.

This does it automatically and because it cuts the lawn twice a week, there are no grass cuttings to be dealt with.

Clealy this item is not for everyone, but for me it has been the best thing I have bought in the last 10 years.

There are downsides:
It does take time to lay the perimeter wire when setting it up for the first time.
You still have to cut the very edge of your lawn. (It doesnt cut the edges)

75 db isn't quiet, ambient sound is 40 db, a quiet rural area is 30 db.

Mowing is carried out mainly between March and October.

Over summer: On average, mow twice weekly, dropping to once a week during periods of drought.
Over spring and autumn: Mow once a week.

Thats the advice from the royal horticultural society
