A ridiculous idea that works so so well. The worlds best selling powertool is now more than just a cordless screwdriver. This small and handy tool can take on a wide range of everyday screwdriving tasks around the home, and can now remove corks.

You can get the base unit (excl vino opener) for as cheap as £25-£30, but most places sell it for £40. The Vino version normally goes for £50-£60. This is a fathers day present if I have ever seen one! A few other places have it for £40 but want another £7-£10 for shipping.

Comes with -
Bosch IXO 4 Cordless Screwdriver
Corkscrew adaptor
10 screwdriver bits
Battery charging station
New 'wine-style' wooden box
Instruction manual

What amazes is me is people vote things as cold without leaving a comment. Either way doesnt matter. Fathers day pressie sorted for me, my father in law, whom quaffs wine and is a bit of a gadget lover will really really enjoy this

Its cold because these are rubbish. Much better to buy a ryobi cordless drill for £50 or so.

Don't let it get to you. It's a good cordless driver plus a fun attachment that might just work - or it might just be a high speed way of shredding corks. Hot from me and don't forget to video it.

I dont think folk are voting cold because of price more so that it's a ridiculous gadget.

For me, there's something uneasy about linking a power tool and alcohol.

also has a few cheaper alternatives :)

Got this (without the corkscrew) off Amazon for £24
Watch it though - it's so powerful, it will tear any small poor quality screws heads, so they have to be drilled out (thats what happened with me, on an old laptop)

Sorta defeats the purpose of having a cordless drill open your wine bottle. :>

Incorrect - try getting a drill into some of the places these badboys can get in to. Heat from me, it's a great driver. The corkscrew is a bonus!

Peeps are voting cold because it's quite expensive for what it is. The IXO without the corkscrew is £29.99 on amazon. Lots of wine comes with screw caps anyway these days so why pay a tenner for the gimmicky extra you're unlikely to use.

Yep, already mentioned that fact in the deal posting. Each to their own I guess. I agree that more vino with screwtops, but also more vino with plastic stoppers, which are harder to get out than cork. All in an effort to ensure less corked wine.

It's "who quaffs wine".

Why would you use this on a laptop? The screws on laptops are are generally tiny, soft and not difficult or time-consuming to remove by hand anyway.

Corked means the wine is contaminated/gone off, not that it has little bits of cork in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cork_taint

FPMSL, he knows that, and your link confirms what 'corked' is. Did you bother to read it.

Did you really think he though bits of cork got into the bottle.

What a (cheap) plonker! Dont you just love it when someone tries to be a smart ass. At least your little grammar lesson to the other poster was accurate, you can give yourself a pat on ther back for that one.

Sorry, my mistake. I thought he meant this screwdriver would make it easier to remove corks without getting bits in the wine. But I see he meant that plastic corks are used to avoid TCA contamination.

No need to be quite such a tit about it though. I did "bother to read" the link thank you; what precisely makes you think I didn't? Also, nothing I said was incorrect or rude, it was just redundant as Oktane knew it already.

I did "really think" he was referring to bits of cork as lots of people believe that: it is a common mistake.

The "other poster" you refer to was the same guy. See, we are all fallible. :)

Apology for being a poor attempt at a smart ass accepted. Dont do it again, you're just not up to it. You stick to looking for typos and grammar and getting your thrills that way.

(there's one in there somewhere for you to find, enjoy yourself)

Well I apologised for my mistake and you continue to be a tit. Bravo.
