Does this really cut through 6.5 cms of wood? The blade doesn't look long enough. anyone got one?

The values given are the maximum cutting capacity the machine is cabable of cutting.

Naturally you would need an appropriate blade. You wouldn't expect the same blade to be able to handle the following spec:

Cutting capacity, max.
– in wood 65mm
– in aluminium 10mm
– in non-alloy steel 3mm

Bosch produce a full range of jigsaw blades to accompany this saw:
one with a cutting length of up to 135mm for wood (and many more cabable of 65mm or 100mm)
Premier...thanks for your efforts but your reply contradicts itself. first the machine cant cut more than 65mm..then you say you can buy blades to go with this machine which cut more than 65mm. thanks for trying to help, but its a little confusing. Unfortunately I don't read German either.
Let's try and make it simple.

The thicker the material (or harder in the case of steel vs wood), then the stronger the motor you'll require to cut it.

Of course you'll need a blade to suit as well.

What I said was that Bosch produce blades that fit this machine with up to 135mm cutting length. However the motor isn't powerful enough to actually cut 135mm thick wood.

In the same way, the machine is only powerful enough to cut 3mm thick steel - but I presume you understand that the blade required to cut steel will have a cutting length in excess of 3mm
