Seems to be the norm for all Bosch mowers, dont know if its suitable for crown green bowling lawns just thought I would highlight the saving to be had.

5 star reviews on amazon

There was me thinking my old Qualcast might last another year - but, hey ho, it's not worth the risk when there is a bargain around.:whistling:
Reserved one for Monday - heat and rep given

You are not suppose to scalp grass and needs at least 1" or 25mm to photosynthese and keeps the weeds at bay. Even bowling greens will be 20mm+. Just mow it more often.

I bought the Rotak 37 today (£107 from Argos). It's a good mower, very light, removes a lot of dead grass from the lawn etc. but it sprays grass out the top of the collector box so you end up covered in grass dust.

This is an excellent mower. I have used the Rotak 40 for the past two years bought it for £99 so this is a very good deal.

I have the Rotak 43Li (did have the corded one previously but trashed the cable...) - these mowers are excellent.

Reading up it seems about 5cm is needed to promote a healthy lawn and if you cut every week you don't need to bag it, just leave the cuttings to naturally degrade into the ground, feeding the lawn.

Oh and for a free workout, use a push mower. Much better cut as well.

a1 i think B&Q pricematch Argos with an additional 10% off.

Bowling greens are cut at about 6mm through the playing season. 20mm should be an adequate height to mow your lawn, unless you like it particularly short.

I got this yesterday for £97.89 !! :x

God damn it.

Still, very impressed with it so far.

I also have the Rotak 37 and always end up covered in grass dust. I've had a look at the unit and am tempted to cut away the bit of the lid that sits on the red handle of the collector box. Any other ideas out there?:?

excellent mowers (bought one last year I think)

only negative is I find it hard to get grass bin in right position, just off where it should be and you get blown cut grass all over you - seems a bit of a design flaw - comes out of position very easily

Voted hot .... I thought I got a good deal on it yesterday paying £97.87 & getting a free Bosch strimmer

I've got the model above this and I can say a couple of things about it:

1) Its excellent at cutting. Not sure about the specification on the box, but if my grass is cut any lower there wouldn't be any!

2) It's rubbish at grass collecting. I bought it based on Amazon reviews, but to me it seems that Amazon peeps leave their grass on the lawn. This lawnmower is nowhere near as good as a Flymo for collecting grass. Where the grass leaves the lawnmower and goes into the collector can build up and then block grass afterwards going into the collector.

Overall, I like it, but I wouldn't rate it as high as I see on Amazon.

THANK YOU!

ordered this model this morning from amazon for £20 more for delivery on the 30th of the month.

not only do i get to save £20 thanks to your post, i get to pick up tonight so can finish my lawn off before it becomes a jungle (burned out my old qualcast cylinder mower yesterday).

got the last one reserved in my local store and cancelled my amazon order.

Very good price and a good lawn mower. I bought one last year for £135 :-(.

Only down side is that you have to empty it quite often as it is not very good at grass collecting. I guess that depends on how large an area one is mowing. On the hindsite I would have gone for a Flymo.

Thanks for this post.. mother in law sorted out with a mower she can use herself.. Now I don't have to go round and do it!!! YESSS!!!:)

thanks collected mine before great price :)

tried to price match it at b&q but their model was a rotak 34gc so wouldn't do it.

just used mine today - cuts well and for the price Im pleased.

It uses quite flimbsy plastic but this does make it very light and with folding handle it can fit into a nice little spot in your shed. 3cm height was enough for my lawn.

Fair warning (and to echo other user comments):
1. the lead is only just long enough for our small garden
2. the box does need emptying regualry
3. make sure that box is clipped on well or you will find yourself sprayed in grass

I picked up one of these from Argos today for £67.89 so looks like the deal is back on.

I had no problem with it blowing grass but did find the cord a little short.

Bosch Rotak mowers that suffer rear deflector fouling on red grass box handle when grass box is positioned on the mower means the product has a rouge production part fitted and should be changed as the warped deflector guard creates a gap and debris to be thrown at the user, its a safety issue so warranty on the mower or even on the grounds of safety the mower or part should be replaced..I have come across several cases.
