Bosch SMS58T12GB Dishwasher, White was £389.00 now £299.0 @ JOHN LEWIS (including 2 years guarantee and free delivery)

My favourite point :)

The upper basket is height-adjustable at 3 stages, even when fully loaded, and features a removable VarioFlex basket as a more flexible alternative to a cutlery basket, allowing you to effortlessly unload cutlery

Great price. Bosch smeg and seimens all have very similar models (think they are the same company?). I haven't seen this type with the cutlery draw at the top for this price before though.

SMEG are nothing to do with Siemens or Bosch, which are part of the same group.

Nothing between this & the Siemens deal, voted both hot.

I eventually ordered the Bosch just because it is a marginally better known brand although I preferred the control panel on this one.

Thanks OP

Bosch aren't as good as they were about 5 years ago, something to do with a couple of parts which are are now combined (according to the technician who came round), but this is best alternative to Miele which is too expensive for me.

I went the other way and bought the Siemens one (reduced from £450) instead of this Bosch. But I couldn't find much to choose between them either - does anyone have any evidence for one being better than the other?

I have this and it's a brilliant dishwasher.
Price wise - it's reasonable but i think it was on offer around £340 a couple of months ago.

Very quiet dishwasher with very efficient wash mechanisms.
It retains a litre of rinse water to use as pre rinse for the following wash.

Bosch not the build quality they used to be

I have this arriving tomorrow. Looked at the two in my local JL side by side, the cutlery shelf swung it for me, more space to get bigger plates and bowls at the bottom, no cutlery basket taking stacking room up!

Very good dishwashers. I use all bosch appliances which get absolutely hammered constantly (big family) and none, after 7 years, have given me any problems.

I bought this last month, great machine and a genuine bargain at £299!

Correct, in fact their chest freezers come from the same production run / factory as almost all chest freezers including Beko, Hotpoint, Indesit etc. etc.

Just a badge difference and very slight cosmetic differences.

I don't know how good Bosch is now but my 14 year old dishwasher works as good as the day I bought it, Bosch tumble dryer and washing machine I bought about 4 years ago only lasted 2 years, if these are as good as the old one it's a good deal otherwise buy loads of Fairy liquid.

purchased yesterday great deal

The cutlery shelf would be a killer feature (however got a bosh dishwashe that is not even 2yo).
BTW, Siemens and Bosh are the same group and mostly the same, however Siemens
is usually targeted into upper market and often covered under 5y warranty.

Anyone know the differences between the various model numbers? The Which site has a review of the SMS58E22GB and its a bit more expensive. I just really want to know how accurate the Which review would be for this model.

It's a beautiful dishwasher that washes beautifully. We've had it for 10 days now. However we've discovered a problem that we won't repeat. My husband had almost finished loading the bottom rack when he pulled it out for one last thing . The whole rack careered forward landing with a crash on the kitchen floor, breaking two precious Royal Doulton bowls. There are no stops on the tray runner . (There is on the one above ). This is our fourth dishwasher and none of the others has had this fault. We won't do it again but what if someone else "helpfully " loads it and the same thing happens?

Disappointed with this machine. It just does not clean properly with any of the washes. The cutlery tray at the top seemed like a good idea but the water spray simply does not get to it and so the cutlery remains unclean. When I called John Lewis to complain I was told that many people had complained about this model.
