This post has reverted back to the original deal I posted, because after an hour the price went up to £99.99 again, now, next day, it's back to the original offer, so I've changed it again! It's flippin hard work this HUKD business!

Fantastic machine, the Starbucks is well nice, was lucky to get mine last xmas for £35 from Currys in the Tassimo price war

TOP TIP: Fill your mug with milk and heat up in microwave before putting in the Tassimo macnine

Good price - much cheaper than the competition at the mo. Although debating on whether to hold out and see if these get even cheaper closer to Xmas... Might buy anyway and if they get significantly cheaper I could always return back to Amazon!

There was a bit of a price war on this and the Krups one so might be the case this year, just having a Starbucks now, yum.
#4
Hopefully there is a price war... but its getting close to christmas already and surely any price war would start by this weekend!

I think there might be a bit of a price war.
I was in costco the other day and they were demonstrating the new one out, which has a Britta filter attachment.
Guess this one is the old style.

Got one of these last year on sale in John Lewis, makes very nice coffee.

Not been many offers on the discs this year though in the main supermarkets.

Dont get the new one, the filters will cost you loads in the long run !

I have one of these and haven't used it in an age. The pods are extremely expensive and the coffee is average. The capuccino ones only make 8 cups per packet and the milk/cream discs are rancid.

I agree with the post above though, the Starbucks coffee was the best I tried and I've had many different varieties.

I couldn't disagree more. :)

The capuccino is lovely, I've just had cup,The Latte Macchiato is nice too. :-D

We use ours every day :)

I'd steer clear of any pod system machine, unless you don't mind being fleeced for refills. Get a real espresso machine.

Very good machine, bought one from Costco's about a week ago for £100!

Nonsense, its about convenience. There is a lot of snobbery around coffee, non more so than espresso machines. People only using water that comes from melted glaciers, and coffee cr*pped out by pixies etc.
If it tastes nice, its nice.

Pod system is more convenient. No tapping out and cleaning, no grinding. Just just in a pod, click, wait 20 seconds, then drink. (Throw pod in bin)

They are convenient if you only use it occasionally - but if you want six double espressos a day, it works out really expensive. Rather than get an exclusive pod machine, most traditional machines will take ground coffee as well as discs.

No thanks cant be bothered using those expresso machines, thanks for your concern tho

Fantastic machine. Kettle now in bin, pods expensive but Starbucks & latte lush.....Worth every penny!!

Looks good.... Anyone know how hot these things heat the water? We have a very expensive KRUPS Bean to Cup machine in our office which does not heat the water anywhere near hot enough for me, i'm wondering if these are any different? I'd like it boiling (or close to) - not least as it's more hygenic, but also for the taste.
#18
Depends on the pod as it does different tempretures, i always heat up my milk in the microwave first for 1 min then put it under the machine , it gets extremely hot doing it that way and makes it taste alot better

I love my tassimo machine, admittedly expensive for discs but cheap when compared to going to coffee shops and you can buy you own cake when indoors!
I read an article in Telegraph from coffee expert that stated that you would need a coffee machine in excess of £3000 to make good coffee and the best alternative was a cafetier, so on reflection the tassimo seems like a good compromise. Must admit not keen on the hot chocolate which is disappointing. Brought mine in costco but strangely they do not not stock the disc, perhap someone should tell tassimo/bosh.

Apparently there is loads of cholesterol in cafetier coffee, although next to none in filter (paper filters it out) and comparatively little in espresso because the water passes through the coffee so quickly. I drank loads of strong cafetier coffee for 20 years - so I'm probably going to die soon

The coffee coming from all cartridge based coffee machines is ***** TBH.

Buy yourself a grinded pack of coffee in Starbucks and use one of those

just bought one in Debenhams yesterday with their 10% off, so it was £87 which I thought was good. Got home last night and why I did this I don't know, but googled the Tassimo and found this deal which is now £70.6something on Amazon.... so returned back to Debbys and got me money back and am now waiting for Amazon to deliver................... hope my Mum likes her present :)
